Tales of Vespera might be ported to Wii (no, it's not)

Leak via one of the voice actors. Full story here:

No Tales Of Vesperia For The Wii After All

Quote:
When we reported last week that popular Japanese voice actor Rikiya Koyama had accidentally confirmed Tales of Vesperia for the Wii, we did so with the caveat that he may have actually been referring to Tales of Graces. As it turns out, that's just what he was talking about.

In an update to his original blog, Koyama apologized to his readers, saying that he was actually referring to Tales of Graces when talking about the Wii. Not exactly surprising news, but considering that Namco Bandai has already ported the game to the PlayStation 3 and is currently considering a sequel, a Wii version isn't that far-fetched.

For now, neither Tales of Graces or the PS3 version of Vesperia have been announced for North America yet. Look for official announcements soon.
Wah wah waaaaaaaah.

Well, that wouldn't have made much sense anyway.

ToS2 wasn't that bad of a game, and the story was excellent. The only thing that upset me was that you couldn't level up the old ToS characters and other than the two main characters, the only other people you could level would be the monsters.

I don't mind blatant unoriginality in the general plot if the characters, gameplay, environments, etc, are interesting. (see Skies of Arcadia) ToS1 was definitely up there in terms of being cliche, but it made up for that because the rest of it was well done.

ToS2 really wasn't all that different in terms of how cliche its plot was. The problem was that they completely failed when it came to making up for that. It was more restrictive than the first in almost every way possible (no overworld, only two characters you can actually customize or set to P1, no conversation options beyond "yes", etc) and the first 8 or so dungeons were basically ripped from ToS and given one more room.

The apology thing was a joke, but it was definitely one of the most disappointing games I've ever played.

They dang well better be. D}:<

Hooray for the only new characters being a really annoying emo kid slash OMG I R TEH BADASS, a Kratos knockoff since the real one is traveling space on a comet, and some obnoxious chick who is obsessed with the former character.

Like, I love having some cameos in my game too, but this game didn't try to be anything BUT a cameo. OH HEY LOOK TOKUNAGA OH LOOK MIEU OHEY THAT PICTURE OH THIS THAT THAT THAT....... wait where's the plot? I can't seem to find it amidst all of these CAMEOS.

Oh, not to mention a fail of a final dungeon. And totally screwing up all of the characters from the first game.

[/disappointed fanrant]

Anyway, it's cool ToV's coming out for wii since I have some x-box-less Tales Of fan friends. :{D

If Graces is not localized the streets won't be able to be cleaned.

Then again we've seen stranger things in the last year. (Frank West in TvC, Project Natal, Female Boomers, Sonic With a Sword.)

So there is some hope.

Namco has thus far made no mention of a release outside of Japan.
The only sign of hope so far is that they've made English versions of a couple songs from the game.

^ Namco releasing things out of Japan...Blasphemy!

Seriously, more than half their games haven't made it stateside here. Okay, my number might be off, but still. Anyway, atleast Capcom tries to release things everywhere if possible.
