The output is far too loud, and straight into my mixer it's coming out pretty rough. I know I could buy a simple limiter at most guitar stores, but that would be a waste of power, especially when it wouldn't take much effort on Nintendo's part to write one into the next update. I honestly don't even need that so much as I'd like the dang thing to be a smidgeon quieter. Even on my standard tv setup, I have to drop the audio down 10 notches to avoid deafening myself. |

Instead of flattening the peaks on the audio so they don't have that overdriven quality, it would actually drop the whole of the input quieter so the lows still match the highs, as they did before. Ironically, the quietness would be caused by the Wii's audio peaking too high. |

When I'm playing games (including the Wii), I have to lower it down to 12ish. Occasionally I'll forget to, and be greeted by a big blast of sound. This has happened a few times when I've tried to play at night when everyone's asleep. |

Now that even I've got an hd-capable platform to view it through, I'd really prefer at least to run the same games in higher res (and I bet the Conduit would look really slick in 1080p). 4 years ago, it wasn't a priority, but they've really gotta get an updated version out soon. |

With technology as scalable as it is, I don't see any reason why a newer version couldn't run the same software at least in its original format. I wouldn't be surprised if someone on the homebrew market hacks the system to output higher res, in the meantime, if that's at all feasible for the hardware to do. Short term, I'd settle for a software update that forces the Wii to run in progressive scan or simulated progressive scan. There's no question in my mind that the hardware should be capable of de-interlacing software that's written only in interlace mode. I don't want to have to switch cables and **** every time I play freaking MM9 or Metal Slug Anthology. Bee tee dubs, they really need to cut it out with the full-screen-blurring as a substitute for anti-aliasing. I dig it when I can shut that off or the software runs without it, because the blur looks like ass on my projector. I don't care if the "jaggies" are more apparent - that's a flaw of the rasterized output. |
