^Which means it probably hit all the enemies. That's how I liked it, even if I was hit, so were everyone else. That's fair and dealable.

Wtf why am I still in last.

Now let the grown ups talk and go back to bed. You need to get to the dentist early tomorrow.
You guys make it sound like you actually get Blue Shells in last. You don't, you get Bullet Bills and Golden Mushrooms and Lightning. Blue Shells are more common in 4th to 6th place.

And I assume that most of you would be good enough to be far ahead enough of everyone to not drop a place when getting hit by a Blue Shell. Guess I assumed wrong? :3

^^You know what happens when you assume things. You're forgetting three simple words: Rubber. Band. AI. (aka The "WAHOO!!!!" Toad Principle)

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Yeah, here's a perfect example of that: Super Mario Kart, I've gotten so far ahead I'm lapping 3rd place in Bowser's castle. Yet second place is still right behind me.

I have seen the computers in that game actually use their insane feather-height jump to just jump over banana peels.

I remember a time not too long ago when I was playing SMK and was in first place, being trailed in second by Donkey Kong Jr. He started lopping banana peels at me one after another, no more than a few seconds apart. And also, when AI DKJr launches a banana peel, it flies across the map, over obstacles and curving around bends in the road so it can land a few feet precisely in front of me. He ended up shooting around a dozen of those stupid things at me.

The computer is a cheating bastard.

So I assume you've never been hit by 3 Blue Shells one after another, LM?

I was actually talking about MK64. For somebody who allegedly had the lowest top-speed in the game, Toad sure passed me a lot.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Yeah, it's genuinely traded out excessive CPU cheating (I've seen them actually come out of nowhere in SMK - as in the direction they approached from was a wall) to excessive NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO BE GOOD kind of item distribution and functions.

At least I could kick the CPU's ass when it was a mega cheater in SMK and not be punished for being a good driver.

Analyst Pachter Expects 3DS Games to Have Higher Prices

Quote:
When you've got a hot product, you've got the freedom to price it as you would like. Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter is so high on the 3DS' prospects that he believes it's "revolutionary" enough for its games to command higher prices at retail.

"We view the 3DS as a revolutionary device, and expect its launch to spur hardware and software sales," Pachter said, reports CVG. "Due to the unique 3DS experience previewed by Nintendo at E3 this year, we believe Nintendo will be able to sell millions of units even at a price of upwards of $250."

"From a software perspective, we believe Nintendo will be able to increase DS software prices, from a blended average of around $25 today to over $29 next year."

That may not be a tremendous jump, and it's certainly not as if 3DS game prices will be jumping up to the $50 mark -- at least in Pachter's estimation -- but those extra few dollars on average can ultimately add up to a lot of money.

This is, of course, speculation on Pachter's part. It's possible that new games won't exceed the current $30-40 price range of most new games on DS, and that an increase in the average price would come from the cheaper end of games increasing their prices. We won't know for sure until we get closer to the release of the 3DS and we can see how publishers decide to approach the situation.

We still don't even know how much the 3DS itself will cost; Pachter told CVG last month that, even at a price of $299, Nintendo could easily sell through the first 10 million systems. He said, "The 3DS was SO much better than I ever imagined, it has to be the hit of the show. I think that they can sell out the first 10 million at any price below $300, and think that the experience is well worth a price that high."

Should the 3DS really end up at that high of a price, and game prices do shoot up (as they often do from generation-to-generation), gamers had better start saving their pennies now in order to afford one at launch.
Makes sense. BUT I'M NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT.

Yeah, I already see the current DSi as being way overcharged for. I'm not gonna want one if it's the equivalent of 300 USD.

You could buy an X-Box 360, 1 1/2 Wii Systems, 3/4 of a ps3, 1200 Shasta sodas, 15 movies, or a mediocre laptop with that... There-go my hopes and dreams.

Well, if all of the rumors about it are true, then it's worth the price.

Nah, I've done 3D before and while it's cool it doesn't make the gameplay any better unless it's utilized well. Software makes the system, and just because they announced some titles that sound cool doesn't mean they'll pull it off.

The 3DS's graphical capabilities are gonna be pretty badass, though.

That said I think I'mma have to hold off until it is more affordable cuz I'm buying my own systems now. x{D

Though I miss the huge rest breaks at uni, I do like how working full-time allows me to actually follow through on thoughts like "hmm I think I'll buy a DS Lite today"
