3DS to have Virtual Console with Game Boy games!

The 3DS Has A Virtual Console For Game Boy Games | Kotaku Australia

Big news, IMO, and about time someone turned an eye to Nintendo's neglected handheld library.

This is sweet. Now I can play all those games I wanted to play but never did, like Shantae and Drill Dozer.

Or I could download an emulator. But that's the coward's way.

And Yellow.

So, more Virtual Console?

I have to wonder if they'll have 3DS points or something.

^ The old Wii Points have become Nintendo Points, which work for the Wii and DSi, so I'm assuming they'll work with the 3DS too.

I'm now reasonably convinced that the 3DS is an acceptable excuse to sell my DSi.

Cool idea, but I've only seen ~$180 worth of features so far. $300 isn't even close to the range I'd be willing to spend on it.

Final NA price may not be $300. Maybe. How much did the DSes cost in Japan?

I'll have to hold back on spending anyway.

I can't find out. Dumb search engines.

But it definitely didn't cost any dollars. I know that much.

Sounds kinda cool. I don't think I could get one at $300 though. I would just get a wii if I had that cash. (Or maybe a 360 or maybe an external hard drive for my computer or maybe (dot dot dot))

I can wait for a price drop. Still not seeing anything particularily revolutionary that makes it a must-have system. Very happy about the 3D screen and all, but the software is kind of meh.

The Wii sold for the same price at launce in Japan, so I'm betting it'll actually cost $250 here. Still can't afford to buy one, but maybe some day.

Probably wont' be bad if the 3DS can be encrypted through my router at all, otherwise it's pretty much moot for me. :/ Because we don't have the right encryption key for our router, my DS can't connect to WFC, meaning no online play (not that I care), wi-fi events for Pokemon, or Dragon Quest IX DLC. Oh well, that's what Action Replay was for anyways.

Also, think they may expand the virtual console on the 3DS to Game Gear games?

I certainly hope so, Sim Kid. As well as GBC and GBA games, to say the least.
