Thumbs up Conduit 2 coming to 3DS

Conduit’s Developer Vows They’ll Bring The Game To 3DS | Kotaku Australia

Quote:
Conduit 2 (it dropped the “The”), the sequel to the pioneering Wii shooter, has had its release date pushed back twice. Once developer High Voltage finishes it, though, they’ll begin working on an installment for the Nintendo 3DS.

“Now that we’re winding things down a lot of our resources are on pulling this technology over to 3DS,” Eric Nofsinger, the High Voltage chief creative officer, told Eurogamer. “We are very much pulling over this engine and this technology on this new hardware.”

Nofsinger says the studio already has Conduit 2 environments “up and running around” in the 3DS. “You can shoot, you can select different weapons and you can see enemies. It runs pretty darn well with full 3D and everything.”

Though High Voltage is intent on delivering for the new Nintendo handheld, a publishing deal is not yet secured. But, “I would guess that SEGA will be interested,” said Nofsinger, who thinks the 3DS’ streamlined friend codes bodes well for a multiplayer shooter like the one served by Conduit 2.

“We can be a shining star on this,” he said.

I'm officially interested

What would really be cool is if online multiplayer could be shared between 3DS and Wii consoles.

I doubt this will happen, though.

That would cool, but inter-platform play usually just overcomplicates things. They'd probably get a much bigger player base online if they do that, though.
