I'm looking at you, AI. The game basically plays like Metroid Fusion or Zero Mission, but really light-hearted. Very fun, and the spriting and animation is great. ![]() Quote:

It's a decent game! Can't blame anyone for not hearing about it; this game basically got no marketing and has a bland title. It's made by the same guys, who made Henry Hatsworth (another decent platformer/beat-em-up/tetris attack game). Monster Tale is also a fusion of genres; side scrolling beat-'em-up, shooty metroidvania, and virtual pet management. The controls are very responsive, and it's fun beating the crap out of enemies with your satchel. (Pro-tip: landing on the ground resets your attack animation, so a fun way to double up your attacks is to attack in mid-air just before landing, which allows you to attack immediately afterwards. This is mostly useful for juggling dead enemies like pinatas, hoping even more candy will fall out of them.). There's a fair bit of backtracking though, and if you want 100% completion, it's a bit grindy (so don't do it unless you are compelled to). There's a code floating around online which you can use to get a 5% discount on shop items (the code was given away if you pre-ordered the game). Wistful review by some guy: Brainy Gamer: Let me count the ways Trailer: | ||
