There's the feeling that you're all alone, a tiny little monkey in a world full of lizards and bugs, silently haunting you as you progress through each level. And there's the giant bee that comes out of nowhere, with a simultaneous sudden change in background music. I'm traumatized. |

Where the water keeps going up and down, and your being chased by a big killer fish? That was pretty scary. Aside: I like how you climb inside of a honeycomb and when you're climbing up the honey walls, every now and then they take a big lick of it. |

I remember the Gnawtys in those millstones that would chase you in DKC scared me as a kid. The Rockkrocs are still freaky. The ripsaw from DKC3 and Krosshair from DKC3 and especially DK64 are the only other frightening things that come to mind. |

But still, it's the game's ability to make you feel alone in the world. Resident Evil I can stand, I mean, the game is supposed to scare you anyway. But Donkey Kong? It's a platform game! With monkeys! It's supposed to be merry, not creepy. Is it just me? ![]() |

I mean, it's not scary in the way that I'm frightened enough to not want to play, but the atmosphere can be quite eery at certain times. Wonderful game though. |

There's just something about facing something bigger than you that comes out of nowhere. |

Or maybe you mean Snapjaw, that piranha that lunges at you at unnecessary speed, meaning you can't even touch the water or you're dead. Then it's either Slime Climb (rigging level) or Clapper's Cavern (arctic level). Either way, yes. Creepy as hell ![]() | |

I'm assuming you mean Slime Climb, which is this one: ![]() It's a lot easier when you're able to find the Invincibility Barrel. ![]() |
