Pikmin 3

E3: Pikmin 3 is Wii U's First (Mostly) Confirmed Game

Quote:
Over the past few years, the Nintendo Developers Roundtable has become one of E3's most interesting (albeit somewhat exclusive) events. It's an opportunity for a few hundred members of the press and industry to hear candid insights into the development process of upcoming Nintendo games directly from designers like Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma. And, inevitably, there's always a bit of news to be had. Four years ago, that news was Miyamoto's confession that the long-awaited Pikmin 3 was in development for Wii. This year's news also concerned Pikmin 3, but this time it was the surprise revelation that the game isn't in development for Wii anymore.

"We really did want to release Pikmin this year in honor of [the series' 10-year] celebration," Miyamoto told the crowd. "Earlier, someone asked if we're working on any other Wii games after Skyward Sword. Well, Pikmin was a Wii game we were working on.

"However, as we've been working on Wii U hardware and I've been looking at those high-definition graphics and that beautiful controller, i've been getting the feeling i wanted to see Pikmin there instead."

While another delay for the elusive Pikmin sequel won't satisfy most fans, Miyamoto mitigated the news somewhat by suggesting the delay won't be unbearably long.

"Since we've been working on Pikmin Wii for so long, maybe it won't be too long before we see it on Wii U," he teased.

He also joked that there was "one issue: So far, we've showed the structure of the Wii U experience and concepts of what can be done with the hardware, but we haven't announced any titles for the system. The corporate side of me wants to follow the precedent in not announcing any titles during E3. The other side, however, wants to tell you we're working on Pikmin."

So while this wasn't a direct confirmation, anyone capable of reading between the lines should expect to see Pikmin 3 shortly after -- or perhaps even at -- the Wii U's launch.
Coming to the Wii U, possibly?

Gray Pikmin crack retarded jokes.

New flavors of Pikmin is a given. Such as...

Green Pikmin never get lost.
Orange Pikmin can run very fast.
Pink Pikmin are double-jointed.
Black Pikmin can roll their tongues into a U.
Teal Pikmin can rub their bellies and pat their heads at the same time.
Rainbow Pikmin can turn into Pop-Tarts, fly through space and **** rainbows.

The possibilities are endless.

I am totally pumped for this. I love the Pikmin franchise to bits (although scary gross bugs auuuuughh), and it'll be neat to see what they will do with the WiiU. Perhaps have the HUD with the day counter and all that down there, or maybe even make it like a metal-detector, where you can point it at the ground and search for treasure.

But the real question that is on the people's mind: What in-game advertising can Nintendo include this time?
