It really does basically feel like an NES remote. (Remember I'm still new to having a Wii) I still got a Classic Controller today (Pro version) for SNES games cause I hate playing Mario World with the GameCube Remote. It's very hard to press B while holding X or Y without accidentally pressing A, this is especially problematic when riding Yoshi. I don't have an N64 games on it, and I can't for the life or me figure out how that would work, but ti's definitely perfect for SNES gaming. It looks like Hypothetically it could be used for Game Cube Games (Every GameCube Remote button has an equivalent, but they'd be positioned differently) however that can't work due to the Wii completely rebooting itself to play GameCube games. I think I honestly would prefer it to the GameCube remote even for GameCube games, the GameCube remotes does look the worst of all Nintendo remotes to me. Maybe some 3rd Party Company could make an unofficial GameCube remote modeled after the Classic Controller. On an unrelated Remote rant, I do wish the Numchuck came with the Wii mote, since so many games require it. I'm certain SSB does, though Mario Kart Wii probably doesn't. I hope NSMBWii doesn't, I'd hate to have to buy 3 new Numchucks (Even sued that's more then $60) just to play that with my Family. My Family and I sued to play SMB3 all the time together just by taking turns, I can't wait to enjoy the Fun this can provide. |

The diagonal SNES style buttons have always suited me well. I dislike using the Wii remote in a horizontal style, in comparison to an NES controller, because it is bulky, asymmetrical, and weighty. |

Yeah, I agree that the GCN controller is pretty bad for SNES games. The GCN pad is small and uncomfortable, so you're left with the stick, which isn't the best thing for 2D games. Oh, and the position of the X and Y buttons are a bit uncomfortable when playing Super Metroid. (though you can switch up the controls there so yeah) I wish my Classic Controller was still alive. :\ |

And it works gorgeously. Most fun I've had with a Mario title in a while, or possibly period, though SMW may be better. |

I had looked that up, sounds like NSMBWii is played similarly to Super Paper Mario (Which I rented and beat in 3 days), which is Retro Awesome. |

I've never had a problem with the diagonality (new word!) of the SNES buttons/classic controller; in fact, the SNES controller is still one of my favorites ever and I think the classic controller did a good job mimicking it. I do, however, prefer the GCN controller for N64 games on the Virtual Console. |

I'll be buying NSMBWii today, and I'll try to get at least 1 additional WiiMote. It seems so far from what I've read like the Propeller Suit is the only use of the motion Control? I'll try to make sure the copy I buy has an Instruction Manuel (My Galaxy didn't, but I had no problems figuring that out, but this I'll be possibly playing with my Slower family). |

Bottom of the controller. The one that is lit blue indicates in which order it has established its connection to the system. The one in the picture was connected first. I do not mean the underside, but if you hold it vertically like you would in most games, it will be the lowest feature on the face of the controller. If you were playing NSMB it would be the right-most. |

When you shake the remote do you keep it sideways or have to point it at the screen? I just got back form the Mall, I got NSMBWii but it's used and no Instruction Manuel. Is it still possible to Call Nintendo and ask them to mail you a Manuel? I know I used to do that for old NES Manuals back in the day. At Radioshack I got a WiiMote Battery recharger that came with 2 WiiMotes. I also got a Wireless Gamecube Controller, it's 3rd Party produced though "Pelican" plus used, but ti was only $10 bucks so I figure no big if it winds up not working. |
