Star Road Officer: Sir, one of the demons is missing.

Star Road Chief: Are you going to tell me which one?

Officer: That's just it, Chief. We can't tell.

Chief: What do you mean you can't tell?!

Meet the Burning Rangers:

After banishing Bowser, Mario and Luigi had nothing to do. Recently there have been many occurances of severe fires, and the Mario Brothers decided to join the Burning Rangers. They knew something was up.

Jina the toad has been with the Burning Rangers since they were founded. She is the fastest in the group and can easily get through tight spots, which comes in handy, considering what fires can do.

Link has never quite fit in the Mushroom Kingdom. From Nimbus Land to Sarasaland, no one is quite like him. The only things he has ever owned are his strange green clothing and his sword with the triangle-in-a-triangle design. Oddly enough he has never put serious thought into where he might have come from, or at least that's what the word is. Once the Burning Rangers were started, he remarked at its curiosity and joined without a thought. He lives at the Burning Rangers HQ and does not interact socially, although he has proved himself as heroic as Mario and Luigi. His main goal in anything is justice.

Finally, Nametag. The founder of the Burning Rangers. He came in mysteriously, but the toads, being a kindly folk, accepted him to the community all the same. The entire Mushroom Kingdom did not understand why he started the Burning Rangers recently; fires happened almost never and were never a problem with the brothers and even Link around. Soon enough, the fires started. He also lives at the Burning Rangers HQ to keep an eye on the systems and be alert when a fire starts.
