Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, and Slippy Toad were enjoying a vacation ten years after their original mission. With memories of Andross fading since the incident on Dinosaur Planet, they plotted a course for Zoness, a planet made almost completely of ocean.

As Falco looked out the cockpit window, he saw that Zoness was nearing. "Ahhh," he sighed, "THIS is my kinda mission."

"Gee, it's probably really hot there..." Slippy uttered. "It's so close to Solar."

Fox turned to the other two. "I'm worried about boredom myself. And besides, we haven't gotten much work since... ever."

"Aww, forget the friggin' budget!" yelled Falco. "We're here to enjoy ourselves, Fox, not to watch the thickness of our wallets."

"I know, I know, I just can't help it..."

In a few hours, Fox and company were signing into the hotel where they would be staying.

Slippy asked the person at the desk if there were any refrigerated drinks, and she showed him to a freezer on the left wall. Slip walked over to the glass door and opened it, and being his normal clumsy self, lost balance and fell into the freezer. Inside there was a secret button that he smashed, opening up the floor underneath him. Slippy was gone in an instant.

Fox and Falco looked to each other with disbelief and the person at the desk was equally bewildered. There was only one thing for Fox and Falco to do--follow suit. They hopped into the hole one by one! What proceeded was a blur of smooth metal until they landed on top of a stack of hay at the very end.

Slippy appeared soon, and was eager to show them something. They walked through the shadows and came to a well-lit freezer room... where there were, behind glass doors, too many to count...

"Foxes!" Falco exclaimed. "When were you going to mention that you had brothers?" he chirped to Fox.

"That's not funny and you know it," snapped Fox. He was alarmed at this multitude of foxes. "Those look more like my father anyway."

After this, they reasoned that it was probably nothing. They tried to go back up the way they came, but the metal was too smooth to climb. Fox, Falco, and Slip walked through the freezer room, shivering either from coldness or nervousness.

Fox, Falco, and Slippy continued to walk through the corridor of frozen foxes.

“This place gives me the creeps,” said Slippy, “Let’s try to find a way out of here.”

“What the hell are all these foxes doing here?” asked Falco.

“And why do they look like me?” Fox added.

Fox stopped in front of a freezer and examined one of the foxes. Its furry body was incased in a block of ice but its eyes were wide open and stared directly back at him. Fox jumped back in shock and Falco pulled out his blaster.

“Let’s blast these things,” Falco said pointing his blaster at the fox’s head.

“Stop!” Slippy cried, “Let’s just try to find a way out of here before we cause any trouble.”

“Yeah,” agreed Fox, “I have a really bad feeling about this place…”

Falco hesitated for a moment before putting away his blaster and followed Slippy and Fox to the end of the corridor…

“Are the clones ready yet?”

“Almost. They will need to undergo a little training before they’re ready for combat.”

“Excellent. Make sure no one enters our secret base. If they do, kill them immediately. No one can know about our secret plans.”

“Yes sir.”

Fox McCloud, Slippy Toad, and Falco Lombardi wandered through the chilling corridor. Each of them more or less felt like there were large blocks of ice slowly sliding down their spines. Making the experiance more eery was the foxes strangely resembling McCloud himself as they stood frozen completely and simply staring into space.

Fox had been on this new Star Fox team since it was formed during Andross's first invasion. He still missed Peppy Hare, who had retired from the force several years ago; and for Krystal, who was now doing research on Dinosaur Planet. And of course he knew his comrades were just itching for another mission, especially Falco.

And after all his years fying and shooting, Fox's senses have been sharpened nearly to perfection. So naturally, he sensed the figure pulling the trigger of the blaster just before the laser shott towards them. Fox immediately tackled Fox and Slippy, pinning them to the ground and saving their lives. Fox then leapt up to his knees pulled out his blaster, and opened fire in the direction of the assailant... only to find no trace of the would-be assassin. He cursed under his breath and glanced in the direction of his partners: Slippy was curled up on the floor, obviousy more then a bit startled by this violent event. Falco simply climbed to his feet, dusted off his sleeves, and turned to Fox.

"What was that?"

"I wish I knew..."

***

The figure skidded to a stop and turned around carefully in search of any pursuers, but found it unlikely that any of the Star Fox team would have followed him here; knowing that weakling Fox, he'd be too busy making sure his friends were in perfect health. Bah, friends. Th figure never comprehended the meaning of that word. To him, there were no friends or enemies; only allies and adversaries. Of course he had his own allies: an angry baboon known as Andrew and a brash young chameleon known only as as Leon. In fact, the figure knew Leon was crawling along the wall, camoflauged to match the color of the wall. The figure looked at the wall and shook his head.

"Star Fox is here. I'll need you two to help me insure their defeat...at the hands of Star Wolf..."
