OOC: Since the first one died and I have no idea what happened to the second one (deleted like the 1st VGFMOG5 maybe? O_o

, I've decided to start over. You may create your own Mario-based character if you wish or you can just use existing Mario characters. The format this OG is written in is your choice.

"Hand over the princess now!"

Mario and Luigi stood at the end of a wooden rope bridge suspended over a moat of sizzling molten lava.

"Bwa ha ha ha! When will you Mario Brothers learn?"

Meanwhile, King Bowser Koopa stood near the opposite end of the bridge guarding a shiny silver axe. His massive girth caused the entire section of the bridge to bend towards the lava moat below.

"Are you ready Luigi?" said Mario nudging his brother by the shoulder.

"Of course I'm ready!" replied Luigi, "Just like old times..."

"All right," said Mario, "LET'S-A GO!"

”OKIE DOKIE!”

Mario and Luigi dashed onto the rope bridge. Their two feet clattered as they stepped from wooden panel to panel. Bowser responded by spitting a barrage of fireballs toward the brothers. Luigi ducked as a sizzling ball of heat seared past his head.

Mario bounced off a loose wooden panel and launched himself into the air. Then, Mario pulled out his Ultra Hammer, performed a Spin Jump, and batted away the incoming fireballs. Mario twirled across the bridge over Bowser's head and landed safely at the opposite end of the bridge. Mario pulled the silver axe out of its pedestal and began slitting the ropes.

"Run Luigi!” shouted Mario.

Luigi raced across the bridge as the wooden panels collapsed one by one. Luigi performed a High Jump off of Bowser's head just as the bridge collapsed beneath him and landed safely on the other side.

"FUNGAH! FOILED AGAIN!" cried Bowser he plummeted toward the moat.

Mario and Luigi high-fived each other as Bowser landed in the lava moat with a loud “SPLOOOSH”. Mario pulled a stopwatch out of his pocket and clicked the tiny button on top.

"Five minutes, sixteen seconds," said Mario checking the stopwatch, "A new record! In your face Scott Kessler!"

"Let's go save the princess now," said Luigi.

Mario and Luigi walked through the steel red door leading to the Princess just as Bowser's head emerged from the moat coughing up magma. Suddenly, there was a “poof” and two Magikoopas materialized above the lava moat levitating on their brooms-- Kamek and Kammy Koopa, the king’s two loyal subjects.

“Your Highness,” said Kammy, the female Magikoopa, “Are you hurt?”

"Damn...I...hate...those...Mario Brothers!" choked Bowser as he coughed up a Podoboo, “I can’t believe they’re playing my devious schemes like simple games now!”

“Perhaps you should contrive some sort of new plan,” suggested Kamek, “Instead of resorting to your same old clichéd strategies.”

“Your Nastiness,” said Kammy, “Maybe we can assist you on getting back at those Mario Brothers…the Magikoopas have been working on a top secret project for the past several years…it should be ready within the next few weeks…a project that will blow the Mario Bros away..."

Meanwhile on the BeanBean/Mushroom border....
"Those guys thought they beat me, but I escaped, See."says Popple the Shadow Thief.

"Hey, who is that?" says a voice.

"Yah, who is that?" says another voice.

"I am Popple the Shadow Thief! I'm searching for two Men in Ped and Green!" says Popple.

"I am Jr.Troopa."

"I am Croco. These men you are looking for? Does the Red one wear blue overalls?"

"Yes."says Popple.

"Mario."says Troopa.

"We all know Mario?" says Croco?

"Know him I hate him!"the others say at once.

"Then we should join forces!"says Croco.

The new found allies head to the Mushroom Kingdom.".

The heavy door, decorated with the color of blood, finally, yet eerily, slowly creaked open as Mario and Luigi pushed at it with their combined strength. They walked down the dark, red-carpeted hallway which looked no differant then it head during the borthers' dozens of previous visits.

Finally they reached the end of the hall and saw PPrincess Peach Toadstool there, imprisoned behind the iron bars of the Koopa King's cramped cell. Luigi sighed as he squeezed a Fire Flower in his hand which he used to produce a fireball in his hand and used it to grab the prison lock. The seal melted from the heat just enough so it could open as easy as any other door.

Peach ran right past Luigi and embraced Mario, squealing in delight, "Mario, my hero!"

Mario waved his hands modestly. "Anytime, Princess. Now let's get you out of here!" as he carried Peach in his arms toward the barred window. Mario then turned to his brother, "Weege?"

Luigi strolled forward and spoke, "I'll take care of it, bro!" as he once again produced a fireball - this time using it to heat one of the iron bars until it melted and snapped in half. They jumped out the window one by one and climbed to the ground on a long rope Mario had brought along during every rescue since, eh, about the twentieth one. They easily made it past Bowser's soldiers, who were still in the exact same posts as they were during the brothers' first run. The brothers finally reached the Vista Hill bridge and rushed back to the safety of the Mushroom Kingdom. But little did they know that this was only the beginning...

Kamek and Kammy led Bowser down a long ancient staircase into the underground catacombs of the fortress. The chants of hundreds of Magikoopas echoed throughout the cavern as they approached a rocky ridge overlooking a massive underground chasm. Several Magikoopas hurled spells and hexes at a massive golden gate with a star insignia on it.

“What the heck is that?” asked Bowser pointing at the gate.

”That is the legendary Zauberer Gate,” explained Kamek, “Centuries ago, the powerful wizard, Zauberer Koopa, spread doom and destruction across the Mushroom World. A powerful warrior finally sealed him behind this gate directly underneath this castle. As his soul was tossed into the gate, his last words were, ‘The one who shall free me from this gate will receive unimaginable power!’”

“The gate’s power is slowly weakening,” said Kammy, “Zauberer has been able to communicate with us through the seal. He told us he would be more than pleased to grant us his power to you.”

“Hmm…” said Bowser with a slight tone of interest, “How much longer is it going to take?”

“The seal shall be broken in approximately 72 hours,” said Kamek, "The Mushroom World lies at your claw tips…”

“Bwa ha ha ha ha!” laughed Bowser, “The Mushroom World shall be mine!”

In Toad Town, the wizard Merlon gazed into his crystal ball when a pale blue hook-nosed face materialized from the mist inside.

“He’s coming back,” the ancient wizard muttered, “The greatest terror the Mushroom World has faced is coming back. The seal’s power is diminishing, but how? I have to alert the Mario Brothers before it’s too late!”

Merlon got out of his house to go to Mario's, but also noticed some people coming down the road... it was Popple, Croco, and Jr. Troopa.

Merlon: Hey... that's Jr. Troopa! And I don't think those others are very nice either... I better hurry over to Mario's!

Merlon hurried over the the warp pipe and jumped in. He rushed over and rung the doorbell. There was no answer.

Merlon: Oh, no! He must be out! I better hurry and get find-

Jr. Troopa: Hey! Old man! Where's Mario?

Merlon: I don't know!

Croco: Don't know? Is that so? Are you sure? This is his house.

Merlon: Well, he's not here, so you might as well go back home!

Popple: Oh, really? Well, anyway, get him, you two Rookies! He's hiding Mario inside!

Croco: Hey! You have to fight too!

Popple: I will! I'm going to use some... um... super finishing move! That's it!

Jr. Troopa: Yeah, right! Wuss! If you wanna beat Mario, you gotta fight!

Popple: Well... umm... I can throw rocks from here!

Croco: Stop being a bloody coward! You're gonna fight!

Popple: Well... I guess...

Popple grabs a shield... two shields... actually, he pretty much gets enough to over himself in all directions.

Jr. Troopa: Now, old man, let us in and let us fight Mario!

Merlon has already left.

Croco: Well, that was easy. Now, let's go kick some Mario butt!

All three run inside.

Meanwhile...

Merlon: I've got to find Mario and warn him!

Mario and Luigi hiked down Vista Hill. The entire Mushroom Kingdom spread out before them like a massive 3-D topographical map.

"Can you guys slow down a bit?" asked Peach as she stumbled down the steep slope, "Eek!"

The princess tripped over her dress and landed facefirst in the dirt.

"Princess!" exclaimed Mario turning around, "Let me help you u--"

BLAM!

Merlon collided into Mario and sent him flying on top of the princess into one disheveled heap.

"Oh...it's the...Mario Brothers!" panted Merlon, "I'm getting a little clumsy...for my...old age...heh..."

Mario climbed up and brushed the dust off his overalls.

"What are you doing here Merlon?" asked Mario.

"Mario...Luigi," said Merlon, "There is something I have to must tell you. Have you heard the of the Legend of Zauberer Koopa?"

"The Legend of Zelda?" asked Mario.

"No! Zauberer Koopa was a notorious ancestor of the Koopa family who wrecked havoc upon the Mushroom World three-hundred years ago," explained Merlon, "Zauberer was a master Magikoopa. He used his Black Magic and created powerful armies which invaded the Mushroom World. Sarasaland, Beanbean, and the Mushroom Kingdom battled against his troops but they were too powerful. When all hope seemed lost...seven...defeated...sent...and......was peaceful... ....... ... .. ...... ...... ... ....... ....Hey! Wake up!"

Merlon popped Mario's sleep bubble with his staff.

"...huh...oh...yeah!" exclaimed Mario nodding his head, "Why are you telling us this story anyways?"

"Because I fear Zauberer's power is returning," said Merlon, "Even though Zauberer was sealed inside the Zauberer Gate, the seal's power is slowly diminishing. Bowser must be trying to free him and get his power!"

"Where is Zauberer's Gate?" asked Luigi.

"It's located in Bowser's Castle," said Merlon, "Somewhere inside the catacombs built beneath the fortress. You two must go now and stop Bowser from freeing Zauberer!"

"If Bowser is successful," he continued pointing his staff out in the direction of the Mushroom Kingdom, "All of this...everything...the entire Mushroom World will fall into cataclysmic peril!"

"Er...I'm not entirely into this whole cataclysmic adventure stuff," said Luigi, "I'll take the princess back to the castle!"

"All right then," said Merlon, "Mario, you must return to Bowser's Castle and prevent them from breaking the seal! I assist you on this quest. Now! Onward! Into the castle!"

Mario sighed and he and Merlon hiked back up Vista Hill towards Bowser's Castle...

The 3 mini-villains have been crashing through Mario's home, looking for him. Jr. Troopa busts open a cabinet door.

Jr. Troopa: Not in here!

Popple breaks open the dryer.

Popple: Not in here!

Croco: Grrrr... he isn't here! Not over here! Or here! He isn't anywhere! That dumb old man must've used his magic to zap him out of here!

Popple: Yeah! So that means he must be hiding in town!

Jr. Troopa: You know what I say? I say we go over to town and start wrecking the place! That way, Mario will have to come out of hiding to fight us!

Croco: Yeah!

Popple: Yeah! Okay! You go do that! I'll just gaurd his house...

Jr. Troopa bonks him on the head and drags him over to the warp pipe.

Popple: Hey! No! We need somebody to... uh... look up for blackmail stuff here! Yeah! Please! No!

They jump in the warp pipe.

Meanwhile....
Mario and Merlon sneak into the gate room. Several Magikoopas are casting spells, Bowser and the two chief Magikoopas are there.
"That huge thing is the gate?"asks Mario.
"Yes."says Merlon.
"Lets go! Bowser! stop now!"says Mario.
"Gaaah! Mario and Merlon. You can't stop me! For my MagiKoopas shall soon destroy the seal! Once Zauberer is in this world we will rule!"says Bowser.
"Mario, this spell will help!" says Merlon."Enchanto Mucho!"
Mario's clothes turn Yellow and he is surronded by star energy.
"Wow! Bowser here I come!"says Mario
Mario sends out a fireball. Bowser is hit and almost is knocked down.
Bowser regains his composure and says "Kammy! Kamek! Help!"
Kammy and Kamek fire energy blasts at Merlon. He dodges and retalites. Mario flies toward Bowser and kicks him. Bowser claws Mario and flame breaths him.Mario is not hurt.
"Bowser stop now or be defeated!" says Mario.
"HaHaHa!At the edge of Victory I don't think so!' Bowser says.
Bowser stomps and a Anuboo enters the room. It blasts Mario. Mario uses a fireball attack incinarating it. Suddenly Zauberer's Gate explodes. Kamek says"Ha! Zauberer's Gate absorbed Merlon's magic because of my spells!".
"Good Work! says Bowser.

Kammy and Kamek fire energy blasts at Merlon. He dodges and retalites. Mario flies toward Bowser and kicks him. Bowser claws Mario and flame breaths him.Mario is not hurt.
