As for me I think they lived used to in our world or co exist like in the 1700's and below because we would not have all of these stories about them from so many different people that came from other times and palces and most of there stories and describtions are simalry or somewhat simalry ( please don't think am gullible ) and also just like what I said about aliens people really think out of all the billons of galxies and etc earth is the only palnet that can suppport life . So what do you think about them? |

Looking at the sign, it's very cartoony and can be understood without reading--that's a good indication that something is aimed somewhat towards children. Now, kappas supposedly lurk in bodies of water. Can you think of a reason aside from monsters that you'd want to keep four-year-olds from dinking around next to bodies of water? Like, the risk of falling in and drowning, maybe? When I was a little, little kid, my dad used to tell me the woods behind our house were haunted, and goblins would get me if I stayed in there after nightfall. Against all odds, this was more effective at getting me home in time than saying 'if you wander around in the woods after sundown, you're liable to get lost, or trip and hurt yourself' would have been. 'Accident' doesn't frighten kids much; 'boogeyman' does. |

For me, the most logical explanation is that the Japanese simply made up fairy tales using the local animals. Similarly, we don't believe that pigs build houses and that chipmunks sing. |

One, where everything has to be proven to exist, the other where everything has to be proven not to exist. I think it's mistaken to expect everyone to be in your world. |
