Epic Ladynerd Join Date: Jul 2000 Location: Forteresse de Valois Gender: Posts: 28,504 Thanks: 1,658 Thanked 1,820 Times in 1,042 Posts | Have you felt a ghost or haunting? I've been talking to a friend and fellow writer recently about haunted places. He was able to tour some of Western Australia's supposedly "haunted" places while researching a book. Of course, for most of them, he said there wasn't anything too noteworthy about the place, and he didn't get any feeling of the supernatural at play. I had to laugh about that, and told him that the workplace we share has a more haunted feeling location than many of the famous ones I've been to. There is a distinct feeling of being followed or watched when you walk through some of the stairwells in one of the buildings. XD There have been other occasions where someone's house feels weird and maybe haunted. I always felt, and still believe, that the last house we lived in longterm had a very definite ghostly presence, but not "haunted", just that there were ghosts hanging out. My whole family all saw shadows "walking" passed doors and windows constantly in that house. On the other hand, there's hardly any ghostly visits in this house. ![]() |

The first was when I was really young and still slept in my parents bed. I'd wake up in the middle of the night and see a shadowy figure walking across the room. This would happen often. I wasn't really afraid of the figure, but I would always see it walking. >_> Another weird sighting happened when I was working at a nursing home. I was pushing a woman in a wheelchair to the elevator. While I was walking, I suddenly got this weird feeling, and I looked down this long sunlit hallway with a door at the end and several tables and potted plants. I saw a grey dog in the hallway, but I didn't stop because there was an orderly waiting to take the woman from me at the elevator about ten feet away. I pushed the woman into the elevator with the orderly then walked back to the hallway. There was no dog there. The door was still closed and it couldn't have come out into the main hall where I was standing or someone would have seen it. Also, the whole time I was there I never saw any other animals. <_> I dunno. There are others, but these stick out the best to me. <3 |

Granny used to smoke alot but she moved out many years ago so the heavy nicotine smell had gone away a couple of years ago. Strangely some time ago my nephews and my sis feelt cigareete smoke some time ago. Not enough to say that It was a haunting, but granny loved that house and the area around it with family and friends so i think it only would be fitting to drop in and check that everything is fine. |

I've already made a thread about it before. I used always feel like I'm being watched when home. (Now I'm used to it and it's impossible for me to feel like I'm being watched anywhere.) I took a picture of my cat, saw a pair of old people in the background that weren't there. I don't think I said anything about this but I also took a picture of my sister a few weeks before that picture, and there was something like a scaly hand on her leg. There is more, like suddenly appearing bread when I hungry and checked the kitchen five times. |

I wouldn't consider it a "ghost" in the common use of the word, nor was it "haunting". But it was almost certainly something supernatural. I've been wondering if I would ever find an opportunity to tell this story. All my life growing up as a Christian, I'd always assumed when people say they've felt God working, it meant emotionally or spiritually, like the way we use the word "feelings". I never even considered God or His Holy Spirit causing a physical sensation. Until it happened one day. I was at a youth conference with our pastor and a group from our church. Pastor took us to an unused classroom to talk to us. He then talked about the usual stuff you'd hear at a youth conference: our lives as young people, the future, decisions and consequences, how God wants to work in us, how he cares for us. But he was pouring his heart out like we hadn't seen in years. The seriousness began to cause that "thick atmosphere" feeling, but that wasn't out of the ordinary. I got that feeling several times before, usually when someone is scolded in public and everyone else is quiet. And he just kept preaching and preaching. Then something happened like I'd never experienced—something much more prevalent than an "atmosphere". I could physically feel it against my skin, almost moving across it. It felt like pressure or weight pushing against me. It was kind of like barometric pressure, but it couldn't have been; I always feel barometric pressure changes in my ears first, not on my arms and shoulders. It felt like a weight on my shoulders, but without the effect of feeling weighed down or inhibited movement. Whatever the presence was, it forced tears from my eyes. As I looked around, I saw everyone else was crying, but not a single face of joy or sorrow to cause it... just tears. All I wanted to do then was clench my bible in my hands and listen to what the pastor said. One would expect such sensations to feel unpleasant, notably if it causes crying, but it wasn't unpleasant at all. I can't explain it other than that it was the Holy Spirit. So on a rare occasion, I actually felt God physically. Looking back, I would think the concept of feeling God physically would be creepy, but I can't say it was scary. A more accurate word would be "amazing". |
