I believe in miracles. I believe that serendipitous events do happen. I also believe in 'small miracles' like the miracle of conception and of being loved and loving in return. ![]() I had a quick search for the explanations for miracles and wiki had the following: - Supernatural acts - Events planned by God - Nonliteral interpretations of biblical accounts - Products of creative art and social acceptance - Littlewood's law Bah!!! I know! I used wiki... I'm tired. That is all. Read it if you must!! ...now let's discuss miracles!!!Do you know of any miracles? Have you, any of your family or friends experienced a miracle? If you could ask for a miracle for any one person, who would it be for? ![]() |

Gender: Posts: 15,896 Thanks: 1,130 Thanked 1,919 Times in 1,046 Posts | I go back and forth between believing in miracles and not. The most extensive act of a 'miracle' occurring happened when I was young. My baby sister was hospitalized for a very severe illness...but no one knew what it was. She would bruise to the touch, she had a fever, she didn't sleep, and we didn't think she would make it. I wasn't even allowed to see her because I was a child, and they were afraid myself and my brothers might spread even more infections to her. The doctors were torn, thinking at one point it was leukemia, then lupus, then I don't even remember what else. Anyway, one night, my parents requested that a priest visit her and perform a blessing, because the next day they were going to do an extensive amount of tests, and everyone was worried she wouldn't make it. He gave her the blessing and... the next day, she was fine. 100% fine. Tests found nothing, bruises had gone down, and there was absolutely no sign of illness. To this day, no one in my family knows what happened, and we have to kind of chalk it up to being a miracle. ![]() |

This is not a Chuck-Norris-exaggeration; it actually stinkin' happened. Last night at work, I got smacked in the head by a steel cart handle while another worker & I tried to load a heavy box onto the cart. I suffered no major ill-effects (the headache was gone by the time I went to bed, the soreness is almost gone now, I had no concussion symptoms, no bleeding, barely any bruising, my glasses were unharmed,...yeah.) And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

For example, and I don't know if this qualifies as a miracle or not, but it's certainly supernatural, my awesome uncle Steve died two years ago. About a week after he passed, on one specific night, about 7 different members of my family ALL had the exact same vision of him visiting them and waving goodbye. The same night, the same vision-- they all had it. Seems a bit miraculous, in my opinion. And Uncle Steve is someone who would want to set things at peace with people before leaving, and say one last goodbye. :{) |
