Considering everything about your house, its surroundings, and everything inside, how well would you hold up during a massive zombie outbreak? My house has a ****ty, rotting fence, so it probably wouldn't help to protect the place. There's enough plywood and crap to board up the doors and windows, though. For weapons, there's one handgun, and an assortment of gardening tools that could feasibly be used in zombie defense. At the moment, there's enough food in the house to last everyone a few weeks (maybe a month or longer if we ration it). I live in the suburbs, so in the event of a zombie outbreak, we shouldn't be too swamped with the undead. If we need to abandon the house, we have two cars and a bit of gasoline we can use to make a break for it. We don't grow our own food, and rely on the city to provide us with water and electricity, so if we run out of that, we'll have to head elsewhere. All in all, I'd say I've got a pretty poor chance of long-term survival. |

I also have access to several tools that can easily be adapted into weapons, and know a few people I could hang around with that I think I can outrun, does that count as preparation? |

Uhhh... other than that I don't have much food in my house (if we rationed REALLY REALLY WELL (and didn't eat a couple days at a time cause you can live a real long time without food) it could last maybe... 2 months tops. I also live in the suburbs, so if my water supply ran out my only option would be dirty creeks and retention ponds and that's way too risky. In the event the virus gets into the water supply... that's pretty much it. I have gardening tools and a machete (I bought it at wal-mart cause they have anything) and musical instruments and baseball bats and a lot of dishes. I wouldn't want to fortify my house because my first reaction would probably be to go to gander mountain (I can drive right up to it and usually no one is ever in there so I doubt zombies would be there) and get crossbows or something. Then I'd probably drive up to a grocery store and stock up on non-perishable food. It's risky but its the only option at that point. I'm sure plenty of other people will have the idea... but there's strength in numbers and we have to stick together to survive, so I'd get everyone I knew. I always have a full tank of gas so it wouldn't be a problem. |

The first few days the streets would be full of zombies, but as they disperse and wander into the nearby woods or wherever the streets would be pretty empty. though there is a much larger neighbor hood not too far from here. We have plenty of heavy furniture to block most of the windows with, but not much else. There is just about two months of food with rationing. I have enough sturdy clothing that I could layer for light "armor" plus work gloves, and waterproof hiking boots. The best long term weapons would be the three softball bats we have, I could easily use two at once in a pinch. The water filter and plenty of water bottles could be used to stock up on clean water if I need to, there is a creek in the nearby park. I'd probably do pretty well as long as I didn't get over confident when venturing out of safty. |

Any microbe that'll be able to inhabit a human being as it's main environment would suffer extensive protein damage and quickly die (denature in the case of viruses, which aren't actually alive). And if there was any material left of it, it could potentially work as a vaccine for the consumer. For the water, I'd say to just boil it in a kettle. For food, just cook it. |

Then fix a way of communication line (if there are any survivors)with stationed boats here and there after the river and start making homebrew with old potatoes and other fruits that i would use to drive a quad i would allso try to get a hold of a rifle. This is going on to long so it would probably be a wall of text before i was done. |

Oh, that reminds me... I have to make a pact with ESSDEE and AYEEYE that if they become zombies, that they don't eat my two brain cells... ![]() |
