I've tried the usual, stay in your base until you have every upgrade and a mass army, and I die easily. I try bringing my hero into the enemy base early on to harass, and I die easily. I spend time levelling my hero up, and I die easily. I learn all the hotkeys and run very quickly and only get the upgrades I use and get them fast and train troops really fast and I still die easily. How the hell am I supposed to win the game as an orc? And how am I supposed to fend off an assault? -CSM |

Build backup buildings in case your originals are destroyed. Send your troops on raids, in two or three parties each. Have them round up mercenary camps, gold mines, and possible sites for harvesting lumber, as well as crushing any enemy encampments. Then, lead a final, incredible assault against the enemy base. Keep manufacturing new units and sending them straight into the fray. Have your heros use their most powerful spells. Then, u win. It's all very easy once you cheat. That is, if you're playing against an AI opponent. If you're fighting a real person, then cheating is immoral. ![]() |

WC3 is super-micromanagement-heavy. What I've always found best is to focus on units that use the same set of upgrades- one set once, then a second set. Make sure they complement each other, and then use just those two types. While you suffer more losses from lack of variety, the micromanaging is much more possible then. Oh, and while orcs have great melee units, you really want to not use the more expensive melee units until you've already cut your way into the enemy base. Otherwise you just sort of lose to aerial units or terrain advantage. |

My inability to micro-manage renders me useless in this game. (Not to mention I'm still trying to beat the last mission on the Undead Frozen Throne campaign...) |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | I have a Rambo-style management system. I won at Starcraft when I made siege tanks until the other base fell down. I find rainbow strategies don't really work well, especially early in the game. |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | I'm just making sure that you're making more than just peons. I realize you start out with Great Hall, so maybe you were just pressing the "make peon" button until you ran out of gold. |

If they die it doesn't matter... Meanwhile build up a hyper (God I love that word!) mega strike force and seperate into tank type things, ranged attacks, magic and physical. Then move them all, plus hero near back, in to the enemy base and get the siege weapons to attack first. Hold back until they have either killed everything or have been destroyed. Then bring a full force of physical attacks and have the ranges fire as the are charging in. Whilst you do this, move in the magics to give you a timed advantage. By this time your enemy should be feeling the hurt. If you have to, build a mixed group of all troops as a back-up that can move in in an emergency. I've swore by this technique and it works most times. Remember, upgrade and a strong hero is the key to victory! |
