| Guest | ^^ The Voodoo 5 cards were a NOVEL concept, but they really weren't that great. I liked my Voodoo 3 a lot.. It may not have been able to do 32 bit color in 3D, but it ran all the games MUCH faster than the competitors.. I mean, if you can crank the resolution, then the color doesn't matter. Dithering can be rather attractive when it's done at high-res.. besides, the competing NVIDIA and ATI cards (not to mention S3 .. ugh) CHUGGED at 32bit back then. |

I preferred the 3 series for the longest time because it gave a great balanace of power, speed, and affordability. I could use the Voodoo 3 and still not be able to tell the difference between the 16 Voodoo 3 and the 32 GeForce. My main problem I had with NVidia's chipsets is that unless the game was designed on their sets, it would perform sluggish. |

| Guest | I currently have an ATi Radeon 9000 64mb in my computer. It's a really good card, and hasn't given me any trouble at all yet. However it's not the fastest thing around, so... that's the only reason I wouldn't recommend it. I would recommend the nVidia GeForce4 Ti4200 128mb. I know several people with it, and it's a powerful and nice card. ~mariofreak~ |
