What with all the hype about Halo this and AOM that and Morrowind the other thing, I want to know what the best older games, are. Commader Keen was good, but counterstrike had the giant ants. No, not Counter-strike, counterstrike. THIS counterstrike. There's a difference.

Anywoo, tell me what you think the best older game is.

I personally love the older games, simcity 2000 is good along with Space Invaders.I must admit I haven't played counterstrike(THE GOOD ONE NOT THE NEW ONE!) but Red Alert I have and play alot. However, one of the classics(I think it came out after Red Alert)is Starcraft, still a great game if you don't count all the hackers and backstabbers online..... on second thought they just ruin it completely because there's too many of them.Red Alert was the best old game I think.

Singleplayer shooter: Half-Life
Multiplayer shooter: Unreal Tournament

RTS: Red Alert I
TBS: Civilization II

Adventure: That's tough, but likely something from either LucasArts or Sierra in their golden ages

Sci-fi: Tie Fighter (Xwing was good, Xwing v. Tie fighter was excellent, but TIE Fighter was mindblowing).

Flight sim: One of the Janes' games

Simulation: Sim-City 2000 (smaller learning curve causes it to kick the ass of Simcity 3000 and 4000).

Check out KingsQuest 6 or the remake of 1.
I would recommend... *thinking*
Descent 2, Diablo, Alone in the Dark..

I've got too many to remember, really.
