looking to find an old game but i cant remeber the name of it... can anyone help?

its a car racing game

you buy a car either from the newspaper or auto wreckers(they auction it off)

you then fix it up, paint it and buy new parts
then you take it to the dinner and wait for someone to want a race with you
either for pinks or just a race

could be drag race or street race

Was it an online racer?

MotorCity Online sounds just like what you are describing, the game is no longer supported and EA shut down all their servers.

I had a lot of fun with that one though, good game.
