| Senior Member | I Have A Small Problem (Mass Effect) (spoilers pretty much up to the endgame) I bought the game about two weeks ago and had been making steady progress up until the Ilos section of "Race Against Time". I've made almost two dozen attempts to reach the Conduit before the timer hits 0 (it starts at 40), but I can't get much more than halfway even if I hold down accelerate through the cutscene and use thrusters on both of the jumps. I've tried looking at guides, but none of them seem to mention this problem. So... Anyone know of a way to resolve this? I've still got an autosave from about an hour before this is some sort of game-killing glitch, but I figured I'd check one last place before going through it all for the 3rd time in 3 days. |

| I specialize in HORN DRILL! HRARGH! | I got it on the first try. Regardless, try to save the boost for the last bit and try to shave off as much speed as you can. |

| Senior Member | Boost as in the jump-thing? That's helped a little bit, but I still haven't gotten more than halfway. |

| I specialize in HORN DRILL! HRARGH! | Oh wait. Don't use the boost. Don't stop for anything and don't get slowed down by anything for too long and you'll make it with 10 seconds to spare. Watch this to 1:33 for reference. |

| Senior Member | That video actually made me figure out the problem... and realize I'm sort of screwed. If you're running the game ever-so-slightly below minimum reqs it really doesn't affect much when there's no timer. Yes, there's noticeable lag, but everything else has that lag, too. When there is a timer, the timer is annoyingly not affected by lag. Unfortunately for me, that means that it's impossible to make it in 40 seconds even at minimum settings. Guess I've got another reason to upgrade a few parts. :/ |
