The whole point behind this topic is both simple and obvious: given about four thousand dollars, what kind of PC would you buy? Who would you buy it from? Would you build it yourself? What would the stats be?

I'd have a 9800 Radeon, 200GB HD, Windows 2000 OS(I've come to hate XP), 1 Gig of Ram, 19inch flat screen monitor, my current sound system.....

I'd build/buy a decent P3 machine with Windows '98 to use as a DOS gaming machine, and use the rest of the money to pay off a little debt. I already have a good XP PC I bought top of the line a little over a year ago that still serves all of my non-DOS gaming needs. Although I probably would upgrade the video card (it has a GeForce4 MX 420) and get a true 7.1 sound system (I have a good 2.1 now).

And yes I do have DOSBox, but it doesn't quite cut it like a true DOS machine does. [img]smile.gif[/img]

My computer right now is perfect. Only two things wanted:

1. Internet Connection.
2. Bigger hardrive.

Where is the idiot running to? Why to Nintendo Mania of course. Just follow him for the time of your life.

- ATI 9800XT video card.
- Lots of hard drive space
-About a Gig of RAM
- AMD FX 64 processer
- 7.1 Surround sound system with a DVD drive so I can watch all my movies on it
- Then I would get a cool expensive case for it.
