This game kicks ass!
Great graphics, great sound, fun to play, scary as hell, wait, that IS hell!
Multi-player is just as good! Using darkness to your advantage, you can hide in the shadows and ambush your opponant!

From me, it gets 10/10 best...FPS...EVAR!!!

Does anyone else have the game yet?

(Waits for Half-Life 2)

I'll tell you what kiddo, you must have one hell of a graphics card, because, we had to run ours on low res, it was just about playable. Well, I didn't get to play it, but I watched my dad.
But it was pretty funny watching my dad get killed quickly.

I haven't gotten it yet and don't plan to.However, if you're looking for the best FPS try Planetside. It has a monthly fee but it's so much fun.Infantry, armor, air, and around 165 guys per side per continent, sometimes involving all 3 empires.

Yes I have to agree this game is awesome. You need a pretty good graphics card to take advantage of all the features, but it's at least playable on most cards. If you have a video card that can take it, the graphics are awesome. Half of the game is the lights being out and the only thing you have to guide you around is your flashlight. I had fun staying up until 2 am playing this game in the dark. There are some minor flaws in the game, but it's still a great game. Also, it has conflicts with ATi cards, but I think ATi is realeasing new drivers specifically for the release of this game some time soon. It can get pretty repetitive somtimes, but then again, what FPS doesn't? I would rate it 8/10.

Planetside is a waste of cash.

Have you played it? or are you one of those typical people who just refuse to pay a monthly fee for games?

1: Played it. 2: Yes. A MMFPS doesn't really seem like such a novel idea.

Yeah, a monthly fee for games kind of sucks. Hard. I'd rather buy a game where you don't have to pay that kind of money.

Yeah, but you'll never be able to have a game the size of PS and not pay monthly fees.If you don't think the idea of a MMOFPS isn't a good idea, your probably not a FPS person, otherwise I don't understand how you couldn't like that idea. However, I definitely admit that PS has it's problems, but they get fixed a lot faster than other games, and sure there's always new problems when they change gameplay through patches, but they solve them.I'm completely addicted to the game.It really spices up the FPS genre.Having to worry about air, armor, and maxes, it's great. But, to each his own.

It looks really cool. I might be getting it.

Where is the idiot running to? Why to Nintendo Mania of course. Just follow him for the time of your life.

I'm an original Doomer. Quake games, Tribes, Unreal Tournament; they're all my taste. I just don't see why the hell I should pay a monthly fee when I'm going to play it the same as I would the other games. Don't go saying that it plays differently, because I'm not interested in a game that plays so differently. I'm also not interested in Counterstrike. CTF or C&H in Tribes are the farthest I'll go with the teamwork crap.

We finally got a new graphics card, so I can now play Doom3.

I haven't got very far, but it's still good.

Uhh, betasoldier. Ever heard of a fairly new game called "Joint Operations"? It's huge, 150 people to a map, 50 square mile maps, fully integrated weapons systems with a very responsive environment. Multiple types of helicopters, humvees, tanks, boats, etc. etc. It's free to play online. Maybe "Planetside" is better, never tried it, but I'm still not much of a "pay and play" person.

And Counter-strike used to be fun about 5 years ago. After a while it got boring.

Yup, I have to demo on my comp and played it for a while with some guys in my outfit on planetside. It got old really fast because of the snipers owning the game.It had great variety though and was fast paced.Planetside is more like a real war where sometimes we spend hours fighting over the same peace of land.I liked Joint Operations, but not enough to buy it.I'll probably end up moving over to World of Warcraft when it comes out though.

Actuallly, I don't play Joint Ops much anymore. But it's still a good game. And snipers don't own the game if you kill them... it's a simulation of a real war, in which snipers can kill at long range... but get them up close and they're toast.

Oh yeah I know.I did get in close and whenever I went sniper hunting I almost always got multiple snipers. It's just that on the map I got in the demo there was one huge mountain off to the side with smaller hills around the bases.Lots of times there would be 10 snipers or so on each side camping the spawn points for each side(I'm seriously not exaggerating).Hell, I didn't and still don't mind getting killed from far away while out in the open or in the woods. It's just that of the hundreds of times I died from sniper shots, over 90% of those were from spawn campers.Which to me, is one of the lowest forms of fps players.

That's why I don't play that demo map in the full version.
