Or an action game? Or an RPG? The world may never know. Anyway, it's a top-down 2-D adventure of epic proportions. You control some dude named Beethro, who has to kill allllllllll these little (big?) bad guys in a dungeon for a king so he can get a ton of money. You can move in eight directions and you have a sword that you strategically use to beat the baddies. Each type of baddie has a different level of smartness. It's a game of strategy, and this game, unlike so many others, makes strategy FUN! The default dungeon is very hard, making the level editor (Yes, level editor!) a blessing. You can even download other dungeons that people make from drod.net. Screens? Sure. But they just don't do the game justice. ![]() That's Beethro next to the blood splatter. The yellow dude with the sword. ![]() Ooh! Look at the pretty light. Anywho, go to DROD.net and go to downloads. Download DROD: Architect's Edition. (Be sure to get DROD: Architect's Edition or you will not get the level editor, which adds TONS of replayability.) It's a hefty download (About an hour on dial-up) so be ready. It's well worth it, though. Oh, and one more thing. If you have a spyware blocker, DROD might pop up. Why? Some DLL file in there registers as spyware, even though it's a normal DLL file except that it's commonly abused by hackers. And also, it might ask for ZLIB1.DLL (yes, another DLL...) when you try to load it, so just do a search for it. You should be able to find it and download it. Then just unzip it into the game directory. |
