edit: Tried out PvP for the first time today. I was utterly terrible, but it was still fun. (I think I managed to actually bring down my 4v4 team many times. I must have been something like 5-30, which you'd think wouldn't happen, just because of sheer chance... but it happened.) I think it's because my skills are geared towards PvE, and I didn't wanna totally reallocate everything just for something I'm not gonna do all that much right now. ...but it was fun.

Well I got this game for getting my Wisdom Teeth removed. And since practically everyone who plays it says that it makes every other MMO out there look like a piece of trash, I was thinking I might cancel my WoW account.

And of what I've played so far, I'm disappointed. Aside from the very few missions where you defend a base, PvE is simply not all that great. Lamers run rampant in towns, you have to get a group just to kill a skale, and starting with a PvP only character will only get you torn apart because you're going to need to create a roleplaying character to get better skills. And I hate to break it to you guys, but /dance is simply lame. And if you are a male warrior or elementalist, please do the world a favour and never ever use the /dance emote. x_x

Oh, and selecting new targets and maneuvering in combat is a regular pain in the ass. Many times I've attacked the wrong target or gone the wrong way because of that.

So...what really makes this better than World of Warcraft other than this is free?

Well... yeah. They have some templates you can use, but you're supposed to do the Roleplaying character. The PvP characters are just so you can mess around a little in PvP outside of the main game. Plus, you can make another character using skills you already have and not have to level them up all that time. If you have a W/N and a Me/Mo and you want to make a W/Me, but don't feel like leveling them up and all that, you can just do the PvP thing. They still won't be quite as good, but they shouldn't be-- otherwise there would be no point to a Roleplaying W/Me at that point.

No. These make targeting simple:

Target closest enemy: C
Target next enemy: Tab

And maneuvering? Come on. WSAD for step forward-step back-turn left-turn right, plus Q and E for strafing. If you just use the mouse (which is, actually, what I usually do) it's a little worse, but nothing terrible.

*shrug* Never played WoW. I'll leave it to someone who's played both to say... although I'll say that GW is more for casual gamers than WoW is. If you're a hardcore spend-200-hours-farming-experience kind of guy, then get WoW. I'll stay with Guild Wars.

This is targetting with the mouse Prince Toad, the mouse. I don't have any problem with the keyboard controls (I'm not too fond of the "C" being the closest target though). And the skale was the only enemy I could think of that required killing.

Don't get me wrong though, this is a good game and I can see why you like it. Definatley worth picking up and playing every once and awhile and worth getting if you like PvP. (I'm not too hot on PvP though.) I was just disappointed by how much hype it was getting and by most of the PvE missions.

Not sure what you're talking about with the skale thing, but if you don't like targeting with the mouse... then... don't target with the mouse. And if you don't like the default keyboard options, I'm almost positive you can customize them.

I generally don't like PvP much either, but I love GW's PvP for some reason. I'm not even very good at it, it's just a lot of fun. I dunno. It's a great game, and there's no monthly fee. Those alone make it worth the hype. If you don't like it, well, that's yours to say.
