I know about instanced dungeons and they're a joke compared to the teamwork required in an MMOFPS.Than again, you are right about something, that's probably one of the key differences in an MMOFPS and MMORPG.

I play RO. If anyone has any problems with this, I'm afraid I'll have to train a pony to bite your wiener off.
It's pretty fun, I don't really mind paying. The only real problems are the newbies. If they're not out asking you to tank, they're begging for money or items or demanding that you heal them.

A joke? Yeah, ok, go run Molten Core without any teamwork. Have fun dying.

Some instanced dungeons are easier than others, but most of the high-end dungeons require an incredible amount of teamwork and support. In, for example, Onyxia's Lair, one noob that attacks before the main tank develops solid aggro will make Onyxia turn and rape half of the raid. And in any dungeon, if someone run out and gets half the dungeon chasing them, they will all die. And I am an avid player of first person shooters. I've never played Planetside, but in Counter-strike and Halo the game mostly consists of running in and blowing the crap out of each other. Whoever has better aim and/or better gun wins. The most "strategy" there ever is is someone staying back to snipe. Also, the well-formulated battle plans consist of "okk guyz letz pwnzorz them!1!! teem moove out!11!"

That teamwork(which I know about from the grumbling of my online community's WoW side, Molten Core to be specific) is good. That is EXACTLY what I mean. But that's the thing, you don't have to go there every single day.You don't work together as a team every single day.In Planetside, you DO work as a team every single day.You can go soloing in it, but your almost always still playing as a team working side by side with random guys. Its even better with an outfit on teamspeak.

There you have even more coordination and teamwork, setting up a defense at a tower door while dispatching a few people to do a bombing run while the enemy groups up for a rush into the tower.Or sending different squads to take down strategic power generators all over the continent to deny the enemy benefits such as free repairing and advanced vehicles.

Admitedly, there are those in the game that almost absolutely refuse to work as a team, but those are few and far between. Most that you don't see work as a team work as a team at some point, or are working as a team with their squad, platoon, outfit and/or friends. There is a lot of extremely important teamwork in this game and THAT is what makes it so special. The teamwork in WoW compared to PS IS a joke.It can NOT compare.I've played both, I've gone on raids, it just doesn't come close. However, your definitely right, WoW has more teamwork than FPS's like Halo and CS.PS is different from all of those.

Parrakay, did you know that there was once a time in Counter-Strike that people actually worked as a team? Yes, it's true, this was before Myg0t and his nerdlings started hacking, when the intelligent players weren't bored of it yet, and when the noobs were too stupid to hack. Halo on the other hand...I'm not even going to mention how freaking stupid many of those people are.

EDIT: Oops, thought that was Beta Soldier I was responding too. <_>"

Also for an MMO you generally have to have some way to advance your character of which your continually using.

Just wanted to address this. You can solo, there's NPC henchmen you can use.

GW rules, in my opinion, but my experience is limited, so I can't really argue with you guys. I will say that teamwork is a must, especially in PvP. And I don't usually have trouble finding teams.

In GW teamwork is only a must in the PvP.That is also the teamwork I am talking about. But the thing is its only temporary.
Apparently the Battlegrounds in WoW came out the other day and from what I've heard THAT requires teamwork, not really the other things in WoW, but that's the type of teamwork I'm talking about, or atleast close enough. However, as in PvP in GW, its temporary.

GW quests and all might require teamwork if it changed extremely drastically sense the beta, but I doubt it.I'm not sure about Ragnorak Online and don't plan to find it.It never caught my attention.

I'm not much of a fan of RO, I played on chaos for about a year and a half, alpha tested the game.. and did everything with gravity.. untill it got boring. I quit the game before the komodo updates >_<; stupid game.. I strong detest, and loath that game, with all the bots, soloing, messed up economy.. all this new job crap. They should can the game effectivly right now!

Anyways, as the topic goes.. about team work and stuff, RO is all solo which is one reason why I dont like that game, now I play Final Fantasy XI wth a high level job.. I've had my fair share of parties with people I dont know.. I'd like to say its much much more fun to play with people than to assume your the only thing killing monsters and also keeping yourself alive with 9999999 red potions >_<;

Anyways,

Neko^^

^^Well, let me put it this way: you can complete quests with three (or five or seven) other people that you would never be able to do with an equal number of henchmen of equal level. Even simple things like ganging up on or disabling a healer or boss help to necessitate teamwork.

The alliance forces in Battlegrounds in WoW are a joke. Almost all alliance players are "omg wtf kill tis gy", "hey who haz our flag?" and "omg shaman! run no way to beet tem". best do Battlegrounds when you're in a guild if you're Alliance.

That's why I play horde. The only problem with the bgrounds is that the alliance WILL win if an Alterac battleground goes on late into the night, simply because, while all the alliance are out for summer vacation, the horde need to go to work in the morning, so they have to sleep.
