Rose online, Gate to heavens, Ragnarok online

All very cool games. ROSE is like no MMO that I've seen. I've been playing Ragnarok for like 4 years, and GTH is just weirded!

ROSE and GTH are still in beta so its free, Ragnarok still has 30 day trials. If you're bored of Star Wars Galaxies, Everquest and Lineage, check em out!

Best game ever, f00. Too bad my computer got stolen and I'm forced to use my dad's work laptop that I can't put games on...

Even if I did have my own computer, my parents won't let me get my own account because it's a "waste of money". -.- Well, if I get my own computer I'll just have to mooch off my friend's file...again. *grin*

Ragnarok is very fun too, though it hardly holds a candle to WoW. Haven't played the others.

The thing about Planetside is, there are millions of FPS games out there that come with free online, whereas most RPGs have onlines that you must pay for. So if I want to play an FPS online, 99% of the time I'd rather NOT pay for it, since I really do have that option. Then again, I've never played Planetside, so... I could be very wrong.

It is, in what other fps can you fight in a battle with 140+ vs 140+ vs 140+ people using base's tanks, aircraft, infantry, all sorts of other ground vehicles, many different infantry weapons, and using air transport, with 100% human players.The battles for one base can last for hours and almost every continent battle lasts for 2 or 3 hours.Many battles last less than that for a continent, but that's because of little resistance and most continent battles aren't like that.There are mechs and heavy infantry in it.Look through the website, this game is worth it.It comes with a 30 day trial too and the actual game ranges anywhere from 10 to 20 bucks.

I played in the beta for Guild Wars and frankly, I wasn't all that impressed.It was a good game, but seriously, WoW beat the pants off it.But PS beats them all. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Anyone going to try out Planetside?

Come on, I'm the one that turned lots of you onto RoN and WoW, don't you trust my judgement?

Although, admitedly, if you don't like FPS's I wouldn't waste the money trying the game, although if you can still try it for free(if I remember right there is still something on the main website for it) than try it.The most addicting and probably the best game I've ever played.Okay, so its not as good as Starcraft; the best game ever made in my opinion, but none of my friends play that anymore.

One bit of advice, to get the full experience, join an outfit that uses teamspeak, and/or has forums.Such as my outfit.We're the Enforcers, on the Terran Republicon on the Emerald server.It has been a while sense I've checked, but we're one of the top 3 outfits on Emerald, period.Also one of the oldest.

Sure its a cheezy recruitment ad, but wouldn't you rather play this game as it should be, as a team, instead of some soloer that can't actually do jack?

Yeah I know, it's easier to get a group when you're in a guild, but many guilds (Especially the really good ones) don't let just anyone in. I like to solo, which is why my preference is World of Warcraft.

All I saw on Planetside was a bunch of incoherent babbling like "ha ha i pwned j00 noob", "omg best gam evar", and almost EVERYONE I killed screamed "OMFG! I KNOW YOU HAXED! LEEVE NOW BEFOR YOU GET BANNED!". Say, does this remind you of anything? *The words "Counter-Strike" flash in the background*

And Gunbound gave me much more trouble than it was worth. I'd prefer not to let anyone in on that nightmare.

And no MMO is truly greater than another, it's all in preference. Apparantly, Ultima Online is gaining more players, same goes for EverQuest II.

Sim, you sound like a rather negative person from all of that.

Also, yes there is that part of Planetside, you are definitely right.However, if you join an outfit on there that actually works together and co-ordinates with its members you will see virtually NONE of that.I have sensed stopped paying attention to all that stuff, it also doesn't occur anywhere near as often as it used to.
You find yourself a group of players on there and their most likely a group of online friends that WILL give anyONE a chance.Overall they're generally good people.Although, sense you like to solo, I see why you don't like PS.

Also, you like WoW for basically the same reason I hate it.It is a great game, don't get me wrong, but WoW is all "me, me, me" no real teamwork is required.Sure it helps, but you don't really need it like you do in PS.I love playng with my friends as a team, those are just the types of games I like.In my opinion, that is the ENTIRE REASON behind MMO's.

Wolfenstein is just a multiplayer shooter, not a Massively Multiplayer Online game, so technically that shouldn't be considered in this topic.Sorry.However, it is a good game though.

Yeah, I am a bastard.

And there is teamwork required in World of Warcraft: These are in the form of Instanced Dungeons, because if you tried to solo those, it'd either take awhile (Unless you're way over the level) or you'd repeatedly die and not be able to get anything done.

Also keep in mind the big difference between FPS's and RPGs.
