Then I suggest you re-examine what I said Corrections: I aint got; I haven't got Porns; Pawns Cos; because tho; though So ''sorreee!!!'' that it wansn't to your 1337 standards. From what i've seen, ''1337'' or ''elite'' talk, is just random crap you just make up on the Internet. What I said about the vulnrabillity of the game does make sense, it just depends on the way you look at it. Examples: You may think that a game has to be locked tight of any mods or custom made patches to the game. I on the other hand, think it's pretty cool to be able to manipulate it because that flexibility of the game can be used to do or make whatever you like to add to the game. Happy? If not, forget it you're hopeless. Edit: People who get worried about viruses are paranoid. [ November 14, 2005, 10:29 AM: Message edited by: TotalEclipse ] |

Yeah, speaks volumes. PT: I've been looking for a good online game to play since I stopped Runescape plus I've had a lot of interest in WoW since it came out. It's just that the monthly fee put me off a bit. |

I've been a subscriber to them for.... what, 4 or 5 years now? They have only steered me wrong from a game twice. MOO3 and Superpower. Both of which I understood entirely their point, its just that they were my type of games. HARD. I don't know much about EQII but WoW was a good game while I played it. In my opinion, I'd get WoW over EQII if you like the Warcraft universe, you'd probably find it much more interesting. |

While you do open them up to modding and other aspects that are good, a game that is, in your original terminology "vunerable" is prone to cheaters. NinNut, to clarify: I wouldn't recommend a Sony MMORPG right now because they're in the process of reevalutating the whole division. They're considering moving towards a fee-free model that instead makes its money by selling items and gold directly to the character using real dollars/pounds/whatever you other people use. Looking in the Sony MMORPG library is showing a ton of problems right now. Star Wars Galaxies is on the decline and looks like its on the path to getting cancelled. The Matrix Online looks like it may die due to lack of any community. Everquest II has its own issues, and they seem to be implimenting features that originally came from World of Warcraft (that should tell you something). World of Warcraft is not without its problems. Horde/Alliance balance is an issue on almost every server I've seen. Typical stupid kids are choosing Alliance because "TEHY LIEK AER TEH GOOD!1" (that, my dear moron, is how you speak 4aXX0rZ) or typical stupid asses like myself are choosing them because they don't want to have to play as an ugly Orc, undefined Troll (they look like anorexic orcs), a Cow...I mean Tauren, or a Zombie. That should change by the expansion (whenever that will be) when the Horde gets Bloodelves...meaning they're going to get a whole flock of obnoxious idiots who like to run around in circles during battlegrounds and the like. Also, my other problem with WoW is that the player economy really sucks on non-established servers. You're better off faring the lag on a high population server than going to a low one because the player economy is horrible on lower pop. servers. Common sense, fewer people can make the items, so they charge way too much. Also, I dislike how many gold-sinks they have in the game. If you want to afford any of the pretty rare items in the AH or find them, you have to (duh) grind like crazy to either find them or get the gold. Only reason I had enough gold to buy my mount at 40 and outfit myself with some good daggers in my 30s was the epic I found and sold at some really jacked up price in the AH. Also, there's several class balance issues, but they seem to be addressing those (sort of, I dislike how I'm a rogue and cannot keep stealth against any other class). However, if you are looking at holding off, there are a few MMORPGs on the horizon that look like they may be decent. Namely, Middle Earth Online or whatever they're calling it (Lord of the Rings) and whatever they're calling the Dungeons and Dragons game (they invented the whole system, they theoretically should do it better). Plus, if you don't want fees, Guild Wars is a good alternative. Granted, its more like a fleshed out version of Diablo II as opposed to a full fledged MMORPG experience like World of Warcraft, Everquest II, and others of that ilk. |

As I said anyway, I think I will go with Gamespot and buy World of Warcraft as soon as I get my job. | ||||

Alliance looks at lengthy ones now. Horde is going to get Bloodelves with the expansion (I'm guessing a May street date). Granted, if I were going to reroll a horde, I'd likely be a troll or undead. I just hate the way the Cow/Taurens and Orcs look. Class is another subject altogether and it can alter what race you pick. Figure out what you want to play as before you pick a race. Any sort of caster is going to be weaker in the early levels and will almost require grouping throughout most of the games (especially if you roll a priest). Rogues are excellent for solo play. Warriors are decent if you're soloing, but I'm not really a fan of them. Hunters (there seems to be alot of them now) are pretty good and they get plate (or is it mail) at lvl 40. Not a bad deal, although there's been a recent boom in hunters lately so you may have problems getting in a group (same with a rogue). Shamans are, well, shamans. Think of some sort of obnoxious hybrid between a hunter, druid, and paladin. Druids are a decent class to use too, though Shammys and Druids are often better in groups. Lets put it this way, if you want a ton of friends and don't need a ton of player kills and things like that, be a priest. Everyone loves healers. Granted, that class gets really boring really quickly, so I can't honestly recommend it. Also, figure out what type server you want to be on. PvEs are good, although you can get pretty bored with them and it can be a bit harder to get PvP ranks in them (you have to battleground more than quest to do that). PvP is obnoxiously a pain to start off (lvl 60s raiding n00b zones), but if you really want to PvP its the way to go. Role playing servers are obnoxious. Avoid like the plague unless you want to do what I did (lvl 1 dwarf running around acting like an ass). Broadband helps. You don't want to be the jerk using a 56K. They announced that they're putting multiple auction houses (one per racial capital linked per faction) and universal group channels (for the capital cities) with the next patch, which should theoretically clear up the crowds in Ogrimar and Ironforge. So the lag should improve by a ton. |

It lasted me, oh, five months or so-- solid playtime for any game. Only game I've played for longer that I can think of is Morrowind. I played Rome: Total War for a good four months. I'm not sure of any other games I've played that long. Anyway, it's a great game. They update it constantly, for one thing. I recommend it. |

If I can find the guy behind some of those characters I'd kick their asses) they want classes that are easy to play, which is why you see about 20 Night Elf/Undead Rogues and 15 hunters for every Druid or Warlock. Druids pretty much have one tree everybody likes and the other two are undesired in instances because they just want druids to be healers/mana *****es for priests and Warlocks have those soul shards. |

Though if you were going to pick one out of the two, go hunter since everyone hates Rogues. I like how flares are effective for 30 seconds and have like a 15 sec. cooloff. Thanks for making stealth useless jerks. |
