Ghost pokemon are some of my favorites, I like their concepts and their power, Gengar is actually one of my all time favorites, so the questions is, with the next season eventually coming around, what sort of creepies will we be getting this time around? They've already played around with ghosts, banshees, balloons (they are ghostly now?), bug shells, and so forth. Here's a few of my ideas. Bonbori: The Paper Lantern Pokemon Type: Ghost/Fire Design: A small round paper lantern, purple/black in color with sleepy little red eyes. Has an ornate design on the front and a glow coming from inside of it, based after a paper lantern. Name concept: A Bonbori is acually the name of a small Japanese paper lantern, in addition Bon- can allude to a bonfire, a fire. Ability: Intimidate/Levitate Strengths: Special Attack, Special Defense Weaknesses: Hit Points, Defense (it is made of paper afterall) Evolves into: Chochin: The Paper Lantern Pokemon Type: Ghost/Fire Design: A larger paper lantern design, long with an opening in the middle like a mouth, showing off an eerie flame inside. Its eyes now look a little more playful/sinister and the design on the front is more detailed, possibly written to mean something like "Haunted" or "Possessed". Name concept: Again a chōchin is a type of Japanese paper lantern, considered naming him Charchin, but figured that alluded too much to the Charmander family, so left it as it. Many Japanese Oni's are actually designed after haunted paper lanterns so the concept isn't really that far out of place. Ability: Intimidate/Levitate Strengths: Special Attack, Special Defense Weaknesses: Defense (Hit Points improve to being average) Moves: More than likely starts with Will-o-Wisp, and then probabaly gets Night Shade soon after, two fitting moves for a Ghost Lantern. Other than that, basic moves from the fire/ghost pool seem alright, as well as some intimidation moves possibly, given its ghostly appearance. Would be nice if at high levels it could have something like Sacred Flame, but probably not much chance of that since its still a Ho-Oh exclusive. |
