Tournament idea for June. Pick the one you like most.

Now I'm going to do this in June for a couple reasons:
1. I won't be as busy, because this semester is probably going to be a huge pain in the butt and I have a lot of stuff to get done.
2. The rest of you that may be interested are in the same predicament.
3. You may be interested in some of the moves you can get from HG/SS.

Anyway, there are 5 possibilities for you to vote on, so yeah, vote and stuff.

1. Mixed Tier

In this type of tournament, you would be allowed to use up to 2 Ubers, 2 OUs, and you must use at least one NU Pokemon. This will make some interesting combinations.

2. UU Tournament

I think this one speaks for itself, you can use UUs and below.

3. Monotype Tournament

This is one I tried to set up before, but never got around to it. The difference this time is that you won't have the option of one Pokemon outside your type, you must use 6 Pokemon of the type you choose. No Ubers.

4. Region Wars

In this tournament, you will pick a region and create a team with only Pokemon from thar region. No Ubers.

5. Uber Tournament

In this tournament, you can use any Pokemon, so as you can assume, teams will be stacked with things like Mewtwo, Lugia, etc.

So yeah, pick one of those 5 and the one with the most votes will be the one we do in June. Also, voting doesn't mean that you have to be in the tournament, so if you just like an idea and want to vote for it, then go ahead.

If any of this doesn't make sense, I'm sorry, I just suck at explaining things. Feel free to ask questions.

I've never been in a tournament before. And all my Pokeymanz suck.

But I might consider something like this.

There's a smidgen chance that I'll join, because I might be back into Pokemon by June.

If so, Monotype FTW.

Uber so it would be less restrictions on which to use this time, and the expected VGS rules may allow a few of such in this year's format. I hope there's more participants this year.

I might, but I haven`t even beaten the Elite 4 yet so we`ll see.

If I do join, Regional is my choice.

WE ARE ALL VERY CONFUSED

HotD's interested in this. Although, I'll need clarification on what all these terms and abbreviations mean, such as Ubers, UUs, OUs, NUs, etc.

expln plz

Ubers: usually among the highest tier group such as mewtwo, groudon, kyogre, darkrai ,etc. smogon Uber tier also happens to include breedable pokemon such as garchomp and wobbuffet due to their overwhelming threats to lower tiers.

OUs: OverUsed usually among the top 50 used pokemon that are not considered Ubers. examples include scizor, gengar, gyarados, jolteon, etc...

UUs: UnderUsed below top 50 non-ubers often include the likes of arcanine, omastar, milotic

NUs: NeverUsed is the bottom tier as examples include luvdisc, delibird, mawile

For more information, check out smogon.com

Did I miss the announcement? I remember Wobuffet being there, but I never heard that Garchomp was.

Also, most people don't seem to know about the Borderline tier, in between Overused and Underused.

However, tiers aren't really important (except Uber, because those pokemon usually aren't allowed in normal tournaments.) From what I know, it really depends on one's opinion. So, they're malleable.

well, I saw another idea for a tournament that I'd like to add, but I don't know if I can add options to a poll. Does anyone know if/how to do that?

There is another format which is becoming popular on smogon in anticipation of this year's video game championship which involves maximum number of ubers at 2 in double-battle format. Further details can be seen here:
