| Junior Member  Join Date: Mar 2009 Gender:  Posts: 431 Thanks: 4 Thanked 20 Times in 15 Posts | Pokémon Mindscrews There are a number of moments in Pokémon that are quite bizarre or make you wonder just what the creators were thinking, whether it be Pokemon design, description, or general plot of the game itself. 1) Froslass: Froslass starts as a Snorunt, a pure Ice type, before you use the Dawn Stone on it and turn it into an Ice/'GHOST' type . . . does this mean you just killed Snorunt with the Dawn Stone to turn it into a ghost? This is the first instance where a non-ghost Pokémon turns into a ghost . . . so basically whatever the Dawn Stone did just murdered the Pokémon to turn it into a ghost, right? 2) Cubone: Cubones wear the skulls of their deceased mother, meaning not only does every single Cubone have a dead mother . . . but also that Cubone then decapitates their own mother, guts it out, cleans it, and then wears it. Not to mention the fact that every Cubone mother is dead alludes to the fact that quite possibly its Cubones themselves that kill their own mother, that or mothers die after birth. No wonder its the Lonely Pokémon! 3) Shedinja: In Pokémon Ruby, Shedinja's Pokédex entry states that the black hole in the back of its body will suck in souls if its stared into . . . does it strike anyone else as odd then that Shedinja's back portrait lets you intentionally peer right into this hole then? Not to mention the concept of a 'soul-sucking void' is a little dark for a children's game. 4) Ghost Breeding: Back to the whole weirdness with Froslass, not only can you breed two Ghost Pokémon (I don't know exactly how that works), but the concept that your hatching a, literally, dead Pokémon, since its already a Ghost Pokémon. |

And to add to Shedninja, I believe a black hole would suck the trainer in, or anything around it's back. |

And Ghost type breeding, for that matter. Is Koffing a subliminal message to get kids to smoke? Koffing smiles all the time, and smokes all the time.... Why is Kangaskhan born with a baby in its pouch? If they are all female, how do they get there? Maybe, the thing in the pouch is actually a stunted twin, and all Kangaskhan are born as twins. When a Pokemon uses explosion, how does it survive? And how are Snorlax and Mew explosive? If Grimer and Muk come from pollution, does that mean cleaning it up would be like genocide? |

I think driftloons kidnap children and take them away forever, for instance. And drowzees stalk you at night. that aside most of these questions are just stretching video game logic.
