Is the original R/B/Y/G/S/C now non-canon?

I am just curious if the story and games as they were told in the original Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal are now considered non-canon with Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/Diamond/Pearl/Platinum since the re-releases of LeafGreen/FireRed/HeartGold/SoulSilver. I mean the new LG/FR/HG/SS are basically a retelling of the same story, but brought up to date with the new generations and tactics that were not shown in their original releases. So the question is, since the stories have now been retold, does this mean that the original games are now non-canon with the newer games, and the new releases are considered what really happened according to Nintendo?

I think ever since Fire and Leaf, R/B/Y have been non-canon or alternate canon. Same with what they're now doing, I believe.

So would you say the original Generation I and II games have been retconned from the official timeline? Or is LeafGreen/FireRed/HeartGold/SoulSilver now their own canon seperate from the other games? Although that doesn't seem to make sense, since Ruby/Sappire/Diamond/Pearl/Platinum are all compatible with each other and LG/FR/HG/SS.

I think it was more obvious between the original Generation I and Generation II games, especially when you could travel back between Jhoto and Kanto, its referenced Team Rocket was stopped 3 years ago (in Red/Blue/Yellow), and other links to the past.

Beyond that though, its hard to really put Ruby/Sapphire or Diamon/Pearl in any timeline, they could pretty much stand alone I suppose, with their distance from the other regions.

The remakes were more like a remake of the original game. Unless these games change something stated in the original game, the original games are still canon while the remakes are more like alternate canon unless proof is made otherwise.

I`d say that their both canon, because all that`s really added to the HG/SS remakes were different designs for places and new moves, Pokemon, and items. This means it does not matter if G/S/C is canon or not, HG/SS is the same thing with added (irrelevant to original story) stuff.

It's clear as day that the world of Pokemon is in a Time Loop of sorts.

R/B/Y->G/S/C->R/S/E->D/P/P->EoP->TIMELOOP->FR/LG, because of some changes caused by people having deja vu, or because of other causes->HG/SS

I might be mistaken; but aren't HG/SS and FR/LG returns to the regions set in the current timeline? Like, a new trainer comes from the old regions and goes on the age-old quest to catch 'em all? So, basically, HG/SS takes place at the same time or after D/P, and FR/LG takes place during R/S/E. That's my theory at least.

But then you'd be agreeing that they retconned the original games, and that the new HG/SS/FR/LG are the new canon, since you're accomplish the same plotlines as the original games, beating Team Rocket and then again 3 years later.

Actually, if it's the exact same plot, there isn't much of a reason to wonder which one is canon since it's the same game.

It's like wondering if Metroid Zero Mission makes the original non-canon. They're both so similar that one can not knock the other out of continuity, mostly because they're the same story.

What the fudge is EoP?

And while we're on subjects of Canon. Surely Yellow was the biggest canon. Since of the whole Pikachu/Eevee starter thing?
