Pokemon of the Week #110: Geodude

Geodude

Type: Rock/Ground
Weaknesses: Fighting, Water (x4), Grass (x4), Steel, Ice, Ground
Resistances: Normal, Poison (x.25), Electric (immune), Fire, Rock, Flying
Best Stat: Attack
Abilities: Rock Head - This Pokemon doesn't take damage from recoil moves (i.e. Double-Edge)
Sturdy - This Pokemon cannot be hit by OHKO moves.

Shiny Geodude looks like this:

March's Movesets
I'm so nice that I have three this time.

Choice Band

Nature: Adamant/Jolly
Item: Choice Band
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spd

Moves:
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Fire Punch
Explosion/Double Edge

Just in case you're not a fan of blowing up. I don't know the Little Cup EV rules so this is assuming that you would for some reason use it in level 100 battles.

Rock Polish Sweeper

Nature: Adamant/Jolly
Item: Leftovers/Life Orb/Focus Sash
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spd

Moves:
Rock Polish
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Fire Punch/Double-Edge/Explosion

Focus Sash only if you're afraid of some pesky Grass or Water type coming in and pwning you.

Curse

Nature: Sassy/Brave
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk, 40 HP, 216 Sp. Def

Moves:
Curse
Earthquake
Hammer Arm/Stone Edge
Fire Punch

I dunno if the Sp. Def will make a difference or not, but hey, who knows?

WATCH OUT ITS A ROCK WITH ARMS.

He's fairly easy to catch, but I never bother to train him.

Never liked this pokemon - even in Red, Blue, and Yellow I was like, "What is this?" Especially since it was advertised as a defensive type - Defensive type my ass, Brock!

Which makes sense, as the mythical golem is pretty juggernautical itself.

And remember, "I'm-a Charizard, number, well, six."

They're kind of creepy looking in real life.

Yeah, Brock lied. Rock type is way more better offensively than defensively - Not many types have a double resistance to it and it's not resisted a lot by common types.

I kinda was hoping that if Rock was going to be used for the fourth time in Unova, that it'd be a lot later than just the first. Common type, yeah I know, but it'd be a lot more refreshing to see the rock-type gym leader actually use it offensively than just relying on the "Haha, your normal type attacks your pokés come won't work here! >:3"-gimmick.
