I believe that at the very heart, information is not biased; information, in the quantum mechanical sense. However, any interpretation of said information is skewed somewhat, by virtue of being observed. As such, it's not so much a problem with the source, but a problem with the observer.

^Precisely.
I didn't say first-hand accounts, I said direct observation. By the time I relate my first-hand account to someone else, it has been biased by my skewed interpretation, but that skewed interpretation does not change the fact that the events I observed are what they are.
