It would be stupid to dramatically downsize your only defense after what Bush had already instigated in his first term. I wouldn't vote for anyone with that plan in mind anyway. |

The Democrats lack the united effort necessary to take the oval office and/or the legislative branch back from the Republicans. Personally I don't even think the democratic committee themselves had faith in John Kerry's chances against Bush. They probably knew he wouldn't win, but who else do they have? |

The problem is we never have a platform and the Republicans always have one that sucks (always making sure Gay Marriage is at the forefront and paying preachers to tell them voting for Democrats is sinful (as happened in some North Carolina church), when there's more important issues out there such as Medicare, Outsourcing, Global Warming, etc). But I honestly think the Dems are getting themselves together, and hopefully, they can make inroads this year (but not take back either house), and in 2008, perform a major sweep. -CSM |
