| Darth Flava is what makes it so much worse to be a Christian: He makes us all seem like overly zealous idiots who don't have an inch of care to win souls to Christ. I myself am a Christian, and I DO believe in Hell (no offense, Wyborn), but seriously, people who run around saying "omg kil teh gays and teh aborshunist" are very much over doing it. Sure, I disagree with both homosexuality and abortion. Does that mean I plan to kill everyone and send them to hell? No. And I'm not a politician, so I have no control over abortion and gay marriage, despite how much I disagree with them. If you are a Christian, you are supposed to, as Boo said, love everyone.
When "Christians" start to spew violent threats and insult and accuse, they begin to adhere to what we call "religion". They stop being true Christians and simply start a war against the sinner, instead of gently guiding them away from sin. Some people refuse, but it's still much more useful than blatantly saying "You are a sinner, burn in hell with Beelzebub."
It gets so tiresome when Christ is overshadowed by religion and complete weak-mindedness. As I said, I am FAR from liberal, but at this point, there is little I can do to change anything. I can pray, like all Christains do, but I will not violently become some over-righteous hater of all things.
Thus, if you must flame me, do it. I merely speak out to say this: Darth-Flava, if you aim to support the religion of Christianity, the faith that I hold true to, do it in a way that actually uplifts Christ. Telling someone to burn in hell is condemnation by man, and that itself is a sin in my eyes. |
