Hmmm... I Think I Found a Religion.

LaVeyan Satanism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've researched damn near every religion, from Methodism to Wiccan, but this one is the one I agree with the most.

The only difference is the God part. I recognize him as the creator, but not as the master. A 'forge your own destiny', if you will.

The point of satanism is rebelling against Christianity, but so os Protestantism.

Satanism is about being truthful to your self and your world, not being tied to religious dogma and legends. You are your own god, your own will, and your own choices, existentialism and individualism.

^Exactly. That's why I believe in it. True, it's similar, but I agree with some of Catholisism, while I also agree with some Wiccan. This is a collaboration, I guess. I don't know, It just makes sense to me.

Go to Anton LaVey's page. He said that he followed the idea, not necessarily the fabricated "demon" of today's viewpoints.

Big differance. Satanism (Capitol S) is more the esoteric devil worship. satanism (lowercase s) is following yourself as the Christian invected aspect of the free thinker portrayed as Satan.

Doing you own thing is terrible business for traditiomal churches, if people started to think, who would pay for all the pretty windows and gold ornaments, not to mention the social power of being in the heirarchy?

Just because Satan is cursed and maligned by Christians doesn't mean he's the ultimate evil. For all we know, Lucifer could be the heroic rebel, and God was an evil tyrant. Just because one religion says someone is evil doesn't mean all religions say it. I'll bet Satanists are sadly misunderstood people, not evil devil-worshippers at all.

At least, the real ones, and not the the gothic poser dumbasses who think they're being really cool.

Satan doesn't exist outside of Abrahamism. If 'he' does, it's not the same person. Speaking of which, Lucifer and Satan are not the same either (especially in Jewish tradition).
Darkness, Lucifer was said to have stood up to god out of pride, not because he disagreed with god.
And he probably believed what he was doing was right, and I could make the comparison to a certain group of people who also believed they were doing what was right, but I'm not going to cause Godwin's law to be invoked again.

Protestantism has nothing to do with rebelling against Christianity. It was a reform, as in to change the Catholic Church(which it later did), but ended up making them branch off because they knew that what the Catholics were saying was not what is true. Plus, Protestants ARE Christian. As are Catholics. But I agree with you on the Satanism part.

You know, for being the lord of all evil, as far as the evidence suggests; Doesn't it look more like the Devil won? Restrictions, punishments, social stigmas.. It looks more like all the good was cast down into a fiery pit in exchange for unswaying judgement. If anything, one of the few "dirty" words I know is religion.
