Thumbs down Bush Vies for Offshore drilling.

Bush asks Congress to clear way for offshore oil drilling - CNN.com

Wow. It almost makes me sick that he has the audacity to bold-faced lie to the American people, and basically blame it on Democrats. Not only does the fact that it's banned for a reason give you some standpoint on how stupid this is, but the negative repurcussions from an accident. Which you know will eventually happen. Give it about a month or two, and they'll find the checks from Exxon-Mobil.

Won't help for almost three decades. What's the point? States rights maybe (though most are all for restricting access), but still won't help the prices today, tomorrow or next year. By the time this gets through the pipes and refinery, we should have already pushed different fuels forward.

I'm strongly opposed to this. It won't help. It'll only fuel our addiction even more.

You know, for a long time I was weary about nuclear power...then I learned the Europeans do it that way. -CSM

What's funny is that this administration ****ed us over.

What's funnier is congress doesn't have the balls to do anything to them.

^^Why would learning that suddenly stop making you wary? Do reactors magically become incapable of malfunction in Europe? (Which side of the Urals is Chernobyl on, anyway?)

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

You didn't know Ukraine doesn't count as Europe?

Anyway, I'd also agree it's pointless to go drilling for more now. It won't change the fact that we depend on foreign oil, it won't be enough to have an effect on anything, and it will take too long.
