Man who shot UO student and paralyzed him

Hunter who shot, paralyzed UO student sentenced | KATU.com - Portland, Oregon | Local & Regional

This is truly a tragic story, but what do you all think about this? I think the man could have been charged with a lot more for the carelessness with which he brought all this about, and the terrible consequences the family has to suffer through. I just... can't imagine what it would be like to suddenly have your life taken away from you like that just because of some kid's recklessness.

I agree with the father.

Facing Madsen, Joe McLaughlin suggested the shooter try to spend one day as immobile as his son. He said if Madsen had only stepped from his vehicle, he would have realized people were in the brush.
It was stupid; people having a gun and just shooting at whatever the hell they want. It's not just a felony assault with a fire arm, it's just negligent.

People like Madsen give us responsible gun owners a bad name. He failed to take into account one of the most important rules of safe gun handling: Be sure of your target and what lies beyond it.

Dumbass.
