Dear California, Arizona, and Florida people:

The radical religious right decided to put an anti-gay marriage constitutional amendment on the ballots this November. And it seems that either people are anti-gay marriage or just don't care. Show that your states aren't right wing extremist states. Support civil rights and justice and vote against these amendments which will enshrine discrimination into your state's constitution. -CSM

But, CSM, the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin. It's right there next to the part about stoning the gays.

I'm questioning if people should bother getting married in the first place. Yeah, I'll support same-sex marriage if it comes down to my state, but I'm seeing marriage these days as more of a status symbol than anything.

They tried this last time around too, but Arizonans voted against it.

Here's to hoping they do it again.

Bah nothing's fun unless you exclued someone. [/sarcasem]

Isn't the term "Marriage " causing the problem in the frist place? Just call it a "Civil union" and be done with it.

The problem is that "marriage" gets recognized with more benefits even when you boil it down, it's mostly a religious union. Civil unions would be best, but only if they apply to everyone. Basically, marriage has more benefits and is considered a universal thing, where as Civil Unions only really apply to the state.

Here's some more information:

Well, government marriage is only for the state anyway.

Indeed. And the religious relevance to many as well.

It won't really go anywhere here in California. Too many people to vote against it.

I mean, they only made it as a kneejerk against the sudden allowance of it here.

There are many battles worth fighting, but fighting for or against gay marriage isn't worthwhile in my book.
