Not really a surprise. The media wouldn't have been sitting on his lawn for a week if they didn't think he had a good chance of being picked.

I wanted Evan Bayh or Kane to do it. That would be a ticket that could woo over some moderates. Joe Biden can't do that. Now I'm scared McCain will pick Liberman. If McCain picks Liberman, Obama can consider this election lost. -CSM

^^It seems as if it's either that or Mitt Romne; the latter would make hell for moderates.

^I'm afraid of Romney myself. Romney was, after Tom Tancredo, the most radical of the candidates. He would do horrible things. He's the most like Bush of all the candidates. -CSM

ABH: Anyone But Hillary

Biden was the most likely choice from the begining. I don't know much about him, though. Likely will vote for Obama simply for Obama.

However, if McCain picks someone like Lieberman, or better yet, Michael Steele (african american former lieutenant governor of Maryland), I would give McCain some serious consideration.

^Please don't prove me right, Jay.....

Anyway, after doing some more research, I'd sooner have Ohio than Virginia, and Biden is likely to help us with Ohio and Pennsylvania. -CSM

Naturally, the first two things I said after seeing him were....

1. Who?

2. Obama picked a White person that's not Hillary?

Because from where I stood, everyone was saying Hillary, and Obama was picking some black VP :/

I'd chalk that up as a political disaster.

Lieberman was picked to give some credibility to his foreign policy, and for someone who's been in the senate for a long long time, thus covering up two major nitpicking holes people have found.

However, the reason I don't like Obama, or more accurately, like McCain, is based on core Democratic philosophy and how it would apply to today's economy.

Or, more accurately, what Republicans say it is: tax and spend (which is, of course, a myth). -CSM

Obama picked an Old White guy?

Now McCain has to pick a young Black guy... or maybe a Middle-Aged Asian.

The Democrat's philosophy is "Tax and then Spend."

The Republican's philosophy is "Spend and then Tax".
