This is of no surprise to me

I've been thinking about this since he fighting for the bid.

What does surprise me is the survey results on the left side....especially the bottom.

I'm not sure it will hurt him as much as it's predicting. I'd think a lot of people who have a negative view of blacks in general would still see Obama as "a credit to his race."

Not to mention that there's no option for going on a person by person basis.

I think the questions in that survey are more racist than the answers.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

In general, these trends tend to affect older whites than younger ones. I know some very conservative whites who are very friendly with a lot of blacks, and most of them are from the younger generation. I read a survey like this one once, and most of the racism came from people who were at least 60. -CSM

They surveyed less than 3000 people. Not only is it unnacurate, but it doesn't say where it was taken. Of course 2700 white people in Mississippi are going to think racially. While I think any form of racism is neaderthallic at best, that doesn't neccesarily mean alot of the people who are in the survey actually think that way.

I can't believe race is still an issue in voting here. There are actually Democrts who are partially turned off of Obama just because of his race (I know a few personally).

What happened to voting for a person because of the issues he supports, instead of the color of his skin?

Y'know, I bet the people who said blacks were "lazy" would probably be the ones with slaves if slavery were still legal.

OH THE IRONY.

I agree. My 90 year old Grandpa said "I would never elect a black man to be President", claiming that they would only appoint other black people to office and not get anything done.

I have to survey people on politics as part of my job. I hear often, "I don't care, I always vote Republican/Democrat." No thought on issues whatsoever from the ones that say that. Kinda scary to think so many people probably vote like that. That same sort of (un?)thinking is part of what causes racism in the first place. Just assume a whole group of people are a certain way, and assume that your own group is naturally superior.

That has nothing to do with this election. All anybody [read: Media and dumbasses] care about is that Obama's black, Palin's a woman that eats mooseburgers, and that McCain's old.

Exact same thing I thought.

Although I'm not tossing out the answers as not racist, the question "Would you describe most blacks as..." implies heavily that you can describe most blacks as something, which is incredibly racist.

This is America, people don't think about issues.

They think about who they would like to go get Drunk with.
