In World War I we went to war with Germany, People of Germen decent were no longer allowed to enter out country.
In World War II we locked Japanese American in ****ing CONCENTRATION CAMPS!!!
In The Cold War everyone was under suspicion of being a freakin' Commie.
And now, people who are Arabic or Msulim are labeled Terrorists.

My question is.

What the **** have we come to?

When the **** our Country was founded on is the very **** getting dumped on by the general puplic.

Racism, prejudice and indiscriminate fear against a certain class of people is a sad, but undeniable part of humanity. Of course, America's no exception, but neither is any other place in the world. A few examples:

The People's Republic of China has an atrocious human rights record, including the racist treatment of the Tibetan and Uigur people, the ban of Falun Gong (a spiritual practice), the extermination of Tibetan Buddhists, and crushing of opposing political parties.

In the modern history of Japan and even to today, the Ainu people (the original inhabitants of Japan) have been discriminated against by the Japanese people. In fact, they weren't even recognized as true citizens of Japan by the Japanese government until about three months ago.

Indigenous Australians (genericly, Aborigines) suffer much the same treatment that African Americans have in America. The Aboriginal people received rights in Australia about the same time blacks were receiving theirs in the U.S., but suffer racial bias even to today.

In the Darfur region of Sudan, Janjaweed soldiers have murdered hundreds of thousands of civilians labeled by the government as "insurgents".

As for the modern "War on Terror", it reaches beyond the US as well. Innocent Arabs have been attacked and even killed in the UK, France, and Canada.

To take from what AI said, not even America is immune to human stupidity. Nobody is.

The internment camps were a tragedy.

The responsible rooting-out of Soviet agents was definitely not. Nor has been the government's tracking-down and investigation of potential terrorist cells.

There will always be idiots in our country wearing 'Nuke the Towelies' T-shirts and glowering angrily at the Iranian dude who runs the corner grocery. I don't see that as an indictment of the system.
