1. How do you know God isn't lying to you?

2. How come we never get to hear Satan's side of the story?

Thankyou.

1. Because that would be wrong, and God is without sin.

2. Because he'd lie to you.

1. I don't remember there being a "Thou shall not protect people from them selves or propogate half truths."
He is, for the same reason we lie to children.

2. I suggest Niel Giaman's "Lucifer" graphic novels. They were a pretty good read.

1. Does God himself actually speak to anyone here? Because from what I knew, we were just getting a second-hand story from people who claim God told them a bunch of things. People sure are liars. Is God capable of lying? What would God lie about?

2. God wouldn't want that... Besides, "Lead me not into temptation; I can find the way myself." Maybe we already do hear Satan's version of events? Who knows. You'll actually need to find someone who believes in God and Satan (in the usual religious sense) to give you a straight answer. Sorry.

(also, if there's a Satan, the one in Tarot by Piers Anthony would be it )

The whole Lucifer story really makes no bloody sense. It paints God as totally naïve.

1. Because he can instantly make it true.

"Oh, did you know Pigs fly?" *Zap* "There, see? There's one flying right now."

2. He's too busy toturing Hitler, and Stock Brokers from 1929.

1. Loaded question. What God? How? Where? I don't see one.
2. It's hard to get the other side of a story from somebody who doesn't exist.

We don't know his side of the argument, right?

If you ask me the Devil and God are having an argument and the devil's being the bigger man because God is just writing **** about him and the devil is going, "I'm not even gonna ****ing comment."

If he was, I imagine he'd be the type of being who could actually fool all of the people all of the time. I can't even always tell when a mortal is lying.

Well, you know, omnipotence is supposed to be omnipotent. I mean, if God were truly all-powerful he could make everything horrible he does good, anyway. But good and bad are just words. Good for me isn't necessarily good for you.

If God wanted all of us to be perfect--how come after Adam and Eve sinned he didn't just killed them and made a new pair of people?

1. You don't "know" anything. That's why it's called faith.

2. The answer to #1 implies that I don't need to hear the other side.

Either way, I think questions like these are silly. People concern themselves way too much with whether or not their religion is "right". They should worry more about what these beliefs mean on a personal level, so that they can have a (supplemental) foundation of morals. I'm Catholic, I believe in God. Why the hell should I care if someone else doesn't agree with me? Didn't Jesus preach loving others? If you don't believe in God, it's not like I'd wish for you to burn in hell or something ridiculous like that. Do your own thing, as long as you don't threaten me or others. As far as I'm concerned, religion helps me be a better person. End of story.
