LOL

This was from the "top ten instances of Christian bashing in America, 2008."

Quote:
INSTANCE #3: Barack Obama Defames Christianity

According to research into President Elect Obama's own statements about faith, and an examination of Obama's position on moral issues, CADC has determined that by any biblical and historic Christian standard, Barack Obama is not a Christian, although he claims he is a "devout Christian."

INSTANCE #2: Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin Is Attacked

Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin, came under sharp attack by some in the mainstream media because she self-identifies as a Christian. The Washington Post published a cartoon by Pat Oliphant mocking Palin because she has a background as a Pentecostal/Charismatic Christian. A suspicious arson fire at Sarah Palin's home church recently caused over $1,000,000 in damage.
Here they are questioning someone's faith, while condemning people who question someone else's. The right wing's hypocrisy all rolled up into two paragraphs, nicely for your enjoyment.

(oh, and I condemn what happened to Palin's church. Palin shouldn't be persecuted for her beliefs just as Obama shouldn't. There's lots of things to not like about Palin that don't involve her beliefs, although some are related to her actions in church). -CSM

Sounds rather Fox Newsish.

No, I just lol'd because it was put out by someone trying to take itself seriously and be legit. It wouldn't be funny if it were by some random blogger or someone intending to be joking. -CSM

Oh, and Linkage. Though I can understand people being upset at some of these (some of these are instances where things got out of hand and I condemn as well), others are completely made with hatred and malice. -CSM

Not that I take that list seriously at all, but here's my assessment, based on only the list itself & my own prior knowledge, not researching any of the stories externally.

10) FACT FAILURE: Jesus is not the protagonist of "Prop 8: The Musical." Also, Jesus and The Rather Smart Fellow are the only non-annoying characters in the thing; Christ comes out of it looking better than anybody else. Also, it's not Jack Black's project: It's Marc Shaiman's.

9) PRIORITY FAILURE: Nobody watches Bill Maher anymore, so nothing he says can be in the Top 10 attacks on anything.

8) LITERACY FAILURE: Dude just said that the person got suspended! Clearly ESPN already disapproved of that action & took appropriate countermeasures.

7) EXPLANATION FAILURE: I have no idea what that blurb is about.

6) REDUNDANCY FAILURE: See #9.

5) CONSTITUTION FAILURE: It's a governmental meeting, man.

4) FORESIGHT FAILURE: There is no flipping way such a ban will be upheld.

3) AUTHORITY FAILURE: Who the heck is CADC?

2) MATHEMATICS FAILURE: This is several different incidents, not just one. Since their perceived magnitude only applies if they are inaccurately grouped together as one, this entry is completely misranked.

1) ...Actually, not a failure. That sort of violence is completely inappropriate, from either side.

BONUS) PRESUMPTION FAILURE: Financial review is that man's job. It has nothing to do with the organizations' faith.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I can see how questioning Obama's faith from a biblical perspective and not approving of the mockery of Palin for her religious background can be seen as "hypocritical". I think.

The Bible says WAY too many things for you to look at something from a biblical perspective. You'd have to be a scribe or something to be able to do that. -CSM
