Do these things really exist just to help people start businesses and such? If there are any you guys know about or that you find, share it here. |

Grants of other forms are also given to encourage development in arts, etc. In other words, no they do not exist only to help start businesses, although starting one may be necessary in some cases. |

Gender: Posts: 10,791 Thanks: 1,019 Thanked 686 Times in 467 Posts | A lot of the "grants" I've been seeing are really similar to the Bush "tax cuts:" blank checks to do whatever you want, aka give yourselves bonuses and not create jobs. While it's important for the government to provide funds for research, they ought to keep an eye on those dollars because they can be, and have been, wasted. -CSM |

I'm just doing some light research on the subject. The economy is obviously in no shape for a no-nothing to start a profitable business. From what I've read, you need good credit (*coughs*) anyway.
