I hope now mainstream conservatives will realize that report isn't targetting them.

First George Tiller, then William Long, now this.

THESE are the right-wing extremists that were in Janet Napolitano's report. People such as anti-abortion militants, Muslim fundamentalists, and neo-Nazis. If mainstream conservatives whine about the report, they're grouping themselves with these murderers, which I'm sure they don't want to do (it will only hurt them). -CSM

The report was issued to target right-wing extremists. This means groups like Stormfront, Aryan Nations, Operation Rescue, Militia groups, Minutement, and other groups that support violence. It does NOT target groups like Focus on the Family or the NRA. Let me ask you: do you want to be associated with groups like Aryan Nations or the KKK? Because when conservatives whine about the report that's what they sound like. -CSM
The Minutemen, Operation Rescue and most militia groups do not openly support violence of any kind. Like any other group, they have kooks who join the ranks. You cannot judge an entire organization by some psychotic individuals.

Case in point, there is an Afghan family who lives in my home town. Talk about a fundamentalist Muslim family. They're decent people though - they work hard and mind their own business. I don't think it's fair to put them on some kind of a watch list just because they don't fit the mainstream stereotype.

^You're probably right, but the founder of Operation Rescue said this:

Quote:
I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you... I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good... Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a biblical duty, we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism.
He also disowned his adopted son when he found out his son was gay. And Minutemen affiliated organizations in California often vandalize immigrant camps and the upper eschelons never condemned the violence.

Nevertheless, the point is groups that are clearly not radical extremists shouldn't put themselves in the same boat as radical extremists. -CSM

^ That is a pretty crazy quote. Kinda sounds like a video game villain or something.

Ah, I know what it sounds like: A Babidi quote from DBZ.

^I was thinking Palpatine, actually, especially the "wave of hatred" part.

Well, just the construction of the sentence, what with the "..." and all, kinda sounds like a mindcontrolling chant.

With a lot of these conservatives, I think this quote from Ben Kenobi accurately describes them:

Yeah, but Obi-Wan is a known liar, never mind the inherent paradox of a non-Sith saying "Only a Sith deals in absolutes."

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Depends on your definition of "radical extremist".

KKK member=wacko extremist.
Ron Paul supporter=concerned citizen.

The reason I bring this up is that a few months ago, Ron Paul supporters were deemed to be "radical extremists" by some organization in Missouri.

How is that paradoxical? I'm not sure I have a complete grasp on the meaning of the word in the first place, but I dun understand.

Points of view don't make people extremists, wanting to kill/harm because of them does.

I don't think Ron Paul supporters are radical extremists; I'm sure they're not. I don't understand them enough to categorize them, but although I'm sure some are extremists (as are some supporters of everyone, including supporters of nonviolence and moderation), I'm sure most of them aren't.
