Several evil CEOs of health insurance companies

If there's any reason to support at least some form of a public plan, this is it:

Health insurers refuse to limit rescission of coverage - Los Angeles Times

Basically what this means is, and they're very proud that they do this, is that health insurance CEOs will drop people from their coverage when they're really sick, causing victims of illnesses to no longer be able to afford coverage, and which might be fatal. This is, to me, tantamount to manslaughter at least. (and this is in addition to the fact that health insurance is so ridiculously expensive and even those with health insurance run up medical debts).

Meanwhile, "pro-life" Newt Gingrich things this practice is the right thing to do.

This makes me sick. -CSM

You spend years paying them for coverage only to have it withdrawn when you actually need it. Sounds like fraud to me. I believe there's some sort of law against that.

This is why I hate insurance companies, banks, and pretty much anything else like them.

Insurance is a joke. A not-so-funny joke, but a joke nonetheless.

I strongly dislike the word "evil," but I do agree with your point.

I don't know that you're giving fraud enough credit.

It's not that; I do know what fraud entails. But I also know what death entails, and it's just about infinitely worse. -CSM

^Yeah. That's what I want for these people. These people are probably worth a few hundred million, so I say fine them about 50 million and give them 5 years in jail. If someone dies, make the fine 100 million and the jail time 7.5-15 years.

Edit: When you think the right wing couldn't make the job easier for us liberals to make our case, we get this crazy and VERY stupid idea from Andy Schlafly. -CSM

What about a large public square, an angry mob, and lots of rocks?

People have died because this. This particular case hit home to me a few years back.

Family sues insurer who denied teen transplant - Health care- msnbc.com

This is why we need a public option more than ever, to prevent more cases like these from happening. And maybe then the health insurance companies might realize that rescinding patients will hurt their profits more than they can imagine.
