Who else sees through this Astroturfing?

You know, those Republican activists descending on Democratic congresspeople's town hall meetings, including people who don't live in the congressperson's district and people who physically assault congresspeople.

Of course, these efforts have been spearheaded by lobbyist groups, including a group run by Dick Armey. Don't believe me? Here's Colbert to prove it. -CSM

And just for good measure, here's a nice little article that compares the treatment of protesters during the Bush years with the treatment of protesters now.

I think it's pretty much obvious by this point everything conservatives say is null and void when it comes to important matters.

Actually when Republicans hold town hall meetings, they screen people who attend. And the Young America Foundation, a conservative group, kicks out liberal reporters and laughs at them, while the Campus Progress, their liberal rivals, allow them in.

I guess IOKIYAR -CSM

Yes, I agree. But that doesn't make it right in either case, does it?

In this topic: Metal Mario gives us an idea of the tactics conservatives use to astro-turf and confuse conversations away from their actual point.

However I shall set the train on the track by saying nothing Metal Mario said on this issue means anything and replying to it will just aid his agenda of distracting the conversation from its point with irrelevant nonsense.

So then, on to the main point. Yes, I see through it, it's blatantly obvious that, rather than making better arguments, conservatives are just yelling louder and more incoherently, thinking that 'No' is an actual strategy to make health insurance work, and that 'No' will somehow restore their image in the minds of voters.

When in reality there are good conservatives out there, and rational conservative solutions to these problems--but the current idea in vogue is a mix of fear and victimology, a vile, hideous plague which is reminiscent of certain Godwin-style conversation destroying bombs.

Why cannot Metal Mario make his own topics and discuss his ideas rationally? Because they have no justification, no reason, and no intelligence. Just mindless yelling.

I don't have any problems with Metal Mario as a person, or outside politics, but when it comes to politics, he apparently never learned when to shut the **** up and think before he said something.

well you see their is alot of bad things on both sides

*previous president starts two wars, collapses strong economy left over from the president before him, tortures innocents, tortures guilty, destroys national image, millions of people cry about country being ruined *

*current president tries to fix healthcare, millions of people cry about the country being ruined*

i too remember when Christians were ousted from their home land they owned for thousands of years, used as slaves, put in concentration camps during a war with their homeland, harassed at airports during a war with the homeland of their religon, and constantly thrown out of the country

^ Come on, dude. We're totally suppressing their right to keep gays from getting married, their right to say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays," their right to teach teach intelligent design in science class, etc.

Yeah, because everybody knows that what you listed and described is the only way people can be discriminated against. Yeppers, gotta be slaves and all, even though that's not possible in this country anymore, so I guess that obviously means there is no discrimination anymore in America, lol.

Or maybe, just damn well maybe, you're completely ignorant on the subject of discrimination in today's society. I think that's what it is, because I've seen plenty of it myself, and all around, and here's a ****ing hint, it doesn't, nor does it HAVE to include concentration camps. Example. My uncle can't get a job because he has tattoos. Discrimination.

Example. I can't talk about my Christian beliefs in public (tried a month or so back with some acquaintances while eating breakfast) without being told that I'm being "offensive" and that I'm starting an "argument". But they can talk about WICCA to great lengths.

Discrimination.

It's everywhere in society, in both small and large scale, ingrained in us in many ways, and on many levels. And Christianity is just as discriminated against as anything else, if not moreso as of late (while I expect it to rise even moreso, unfortunately). Christians can't even say they're discriminated against or else we have "martyr complexes" and are told "NUH-UH, 'CUZ YOU'RE A BIG-BIG RELIGION DURR" along with something like:

"The day Christians are anywhere near as discriminated against as non-Christians in this country, I will give you $5. "

Yeah, but whatever, I'm wrong rite?

Yeah, and they're totally not supressing our right to live naturally and morally, while keeping our children uninfluenced by the nonsensical and twisted views of their culture. They're completely, so-totally not doing that.

Oh, and yeah, who cares if Happy Holidays replaces Merry Christmas, it's so stupid to care that freedom of speech is being eradicated.

And take the schools. Just don't interfere with homeschooling; keep your fingers out of the cookie jar.
