You know, those Republican activists descending on Democratic congresspeople's town hall meetings, including people who don't live in the congressperson's district and people who physically assault congresspeople. Of course, these efforts have been spearheaded by lobbyist groups, including a group run by Dick Armey. Don't believe me? Here's Colbert to prove it. -CSM |

And here's some liberals shutting down a speech at UNC-Chapel Hill. And here's some liberals blocking a military shipment (they support the troops, though). And here's some liberals chasing some Christian evangelists out of a neighborhood. And here's some liberals bullying an elderly protester and defiling her crucifix. And just for good measure, here's a nice little article that compares the treatment of protesters during the Bush years with the treatment of protesters now. And the Young America Foundation, a conservative group, kicks out liberal reporters and laughs at them, while the Campus Progress, their liberal rivals, allow them in. I guess IOKIYAR -CSM |

However I shall set the train on the track by saying nothing Metal Mario said on this issue means anything and replying to it will just aid his agenda of distracting the conversation from its point with irrelevant nonsense. So then, on to the main point. Yes, I see through it, it's blatantly obvious that, rather than making better arguments, conservatives are just yelling louder and more incoherently, thinking that 'No' is an actual strategy to make health insurance work, and that 'No' will somehow restore their image in the minds of voters. When in reality there are good conservatives out there, and rational conservative solutions to these problems--but the current idea in vogue is a mix of fear and victimology, a vile, hideous plague which is reminiscent of certain Godwin-style conversation destroying bombs. Why cannot Metal Mario make his own topics and discuss his ideas rationally? Because they have no justification, no reason, and no intelligence. Just mindless yelling. I don't have any problems with Metal Mario as a person, or outside politics, but when it comes to politics, he apparently never learned when to shut the **** up and think before he said something. |

We're totally suppressing their right to keep gays from getting married, their right to say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays," their right to teach teach intelligent design in science class, etc. |

Or maybe, just damn well maybe, you're completely ignorant on the subject of discrimination in today's society. I think that's what it is, because I've seen plenty of it myself, and all around, and here's a ****ing hint, it doesn't, nor does it HAVE to include concentration camps. Example. My uncle can't get a job because he has tattoos. Discrimination. Example. I can't talk about my Christian beliefs in public (tried a month or so back with some acquaintances while eating breakfast) without being told that I'm being "offensive" and that I'm starting an "argument". But they can talk about WICCA to great lengths. Discrimination. It's everywhere in society, in both small and large scale, ingrained in us in many ways, and on many levels. And Christianity is just as discriminated against as anything else, if not moreso as of late (while I expect it to rise even moreso, unfortunately). Christians can't even say they're discriminated against or else we have "martyr complexes" and are told "NUH-UH, 'CUZ YOU'RE A BIG-BIG RELIGION DURR" along with something like: "The day Christians are anywhere near as discriminated against as non-Christians in this country, I will give you $5. " Yeah, but whatever, I'm wrong rite? Quote:
Oh, and yeah, who cares if Happy Holidays replaces Merry Christmas, it's so stupid to care that freedom of speech is being eradicated. And take the schools. Just don't interfere with homeschooling; keep your fingers out of the cookie jar. Last edited by I REALLY HATE POKEMON!; 08-06-2009 at 05:46 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost | ||
