They find the people who can't afford it, fine them until they're bankrupt, and then leave them to wither and die on the streets. Eventually, only the people who can afford it have survived. Blam! The U.S. has 100% of it's citizens covered by health care! Brilliant, huh? |

THIS is the real injustice and THIS is the real "death panel" and the real rationing. -CSM |

However, this would work much better with the public option in place. |

They've never been in debt, been living paycheck to paycheck, had to pick between insurance, had to pick which bill to pay, or working a blue-collar job that can be cut at any second for a person who they can pay less. (And at middle age) Similar to how countries like Israel require x months/years of military service, I think Congress should require people who're trying to get in x years living the life of a real-life joe the plumber. You know...the people who make up the majority of the country. They must also have no support from wealthy relatives or inheritances, no pre-existing health care coverage, and no insurance they would be able to afford in their usual income. That way they'll actually KNOW what the middle class people need or what they actually are. And preferably, they have to do it in cities like Detroit or Flint, and they can still be cut when they're in their 40s and have to find a new job. (People who say "Oh just cut General motors, they can find another job" have obviously never been unemployed.) Oh, and require everyone to work 6 months in retail. (Training doesn't count, since apparently it takes more than three days for some jobs.) Quote:
